What am I watching? She’s linked me nothing yet.
So a few people make a video complaining that mage portals are no longer relevant somehow and this is proof that the portals being removed were bad for the game?
Yeah, I’m not buying that at all. Peddle that nonsense someplace else.
Just in case you didn’t know if you say something and someone questions you about it and you can’t provide any evidence of it you look like a complete fool.
And those video you agree with yes?
yes it is instant but has a cost associated with it. The cost part is the key here.
I know that emergent gameplay isn’t designed by the devs. I’m starting to think that it is you who doesn’t know what it means. 3 posts later and you still have yet to list what these “emergent gameplay” forms are. Almost everything in this game and the way you play it was crafted to be played that way by the Developers. Period. Fullstop. Not debatable. This is true of all theme park MMORPGs. WoW is not a sandbox MMORPG or Skyrim or Minecraft. Matter of fact, WoW has the least emergent gameplay of any of the major MMORPGs right now. ESO is my main game right now, and there is far more emergent gameplay in it. Why? They haven’t streamlined the heck out of the game. Playing WoW feels like playing in a ball pit at McDonalds compared to ESO doing mountain climbing on the side of a glacier.
How can they say they want the world to feel big when we can fly everywhere, use LFG to teleport to an instance and never see the outside and pretty much level and only see like half the zones
the sense of adventure will never be the same as having to get through a zone to get to another zone as when you come back and just fly over what you missed
might as well just keep the damn portals
They can’t do that. That would mean they’d admit they were wrong.
Changing from free to having a cost is still a bad decision. It’s a net loss for the players.
Maybe removing the portals is the first step. Maybe the things you mentioned are next
And those video you agree with yes?
I was responding to someone suggesting that this was a change that has no justification behind it. I agree with the part that talks about the balance of conveniences, but I do not agree with all drama he makes.
All that does is make me wish we could climb mountains in ESO, Breath of the Wild-style.
I think portals are the lesser of any evil in that sense
But you did mention mages and portal right? and you agree with those vodeo yes?
pathetic.
So do we let PLAYERS determine whats best for the game now or not?
Funny…you play mage too? Is THAT what this is about? You gonna make a mint CHARGING poor players for ports?
Its a game FILLED with PORTALS …MAGIC portals. There is NO reason to remove existing portals and both hand that power to PLAYERS OR cause those players playing mages to be harassed every minute of THEIR day for a port.
Haha. What I mean is its dangerous. They aren’t afraid of the players making bad decisions. You can talent and skill wrong in ESO and do 1/4 your potential DPS. In WoW, the optimal DPS versus subpar dps is only like 10% different for most specs according to Preach.
Yes, costs are an inconvenience. The existence of inconveniences are not losses by themselves. The entire game is based around inconveniences and solutions to them. The logic of “everything that increases convenience is a positive” and vice versa does not follow.
Only thing I can come up with to logically for portals going down is they ran out of mana. Other then that I see not reason to turn off portals.
Precisely. Convenience is the enemy of immersion more often than not.
And you are allowed to have that opinion about me. But I gave my explanation why. Anyone that watches his videos will be able to confirm the existence of this talking point.
