So we’re also continuing to pretend that Bloodsail Buccaneers does not exist? Is that correct? We are retconning them into the group of locked servers whose players should have moved before now?

classic hasn’t had any gbank transfers, my guess is that guild bank transfers are just not in the game at all and can’t be enabled, i don’t see why they’d do any of this stuff if they could just enable it

I believe we had Guild transfers until the launch of Cata if I remember correctly, but then it was retired once the War within launched due to how their servers work, so they did away with it completely.
Apparently so, we are the faction of WoW that clearly isn’t wanted by this dev.

This happened well before MOP classic, I remember we had a great thriving community on Bigglesworth-NA before free transfers opened to other servers. Its not a new thing, to some of us, but I do think having a bigger pool of players to pug/recruit from is a good thing lol.
There are so many reason this wont work that you have not thought of.
“we will take action and offer free transfers off” -----Only by the time this happens months from now, all of our names on these servers will be taken. Not to mention all the guilds that moved over earlier, got to establish themselves on the realm, and we will be coming in behind.
You mentioned guild stuff on new servers would be temporarily cheaper so guilds can get re established quick. Great idea, but in 6 months when you let Grob finally go, are you going to do that again? Or is all of Grob going to get over there just in time for everything to be full price, and we get screwed there as well?
You are taking ALL the player base of classic BUT GROB, and giving them a choice on how/where they want to play. Nobody is coming to Grob now due to all the other options you gave them. Meanwhile, Grob players stay on a dead server for raiding where the AH market is usually empty, or 100000% overpriced. Why are we paying the same sub fee everyone else is, and getting treated like 2nd class? Why are Grob players not getting what EVERYONE else is?
The best case scenario for Grob players in the future, is they get the free transfer everyone else is getting now, only their names will be gone, and they are behind the curve.
You are giving yourself SO MUCH more work in the future. You are already moving 95% of your players onto these new servers. Please save yourself, and us a ton of future pain. Just let us go, and have the same opportunity everyone else is getting.

OK, so then since you guys don’t feel guilds are even possible, leave BSB open and as is. We don’t need anything else. If that’s completely out of the question could you not lump in the smaller servers all together into their own virtual server too, so we’re at least CLOSER to on a level playing field with our names and guild names that the bigger realms are getting?

Does this mean you are NOT going to turn Arugal into a PvE server? Because, from the posts I have read and the people I have spoken with the Arugal community “overwhelmingly” does not want the server changed as the majority of them chose it as a PvP server.
Or is this just more meaningless lip service?

Also could could you clarify the difficulty surrounding moving the player data in bulk? Aren’t we all just manually, individually, doing the exact same process by transferring characters?
How does that take less time and effort than say, moving the data from each server during downtime? Is it that massive that you somehow doing it automated, piecemeal, over 1000s of accounts, is easier and less time consuming?

Is this confirmation that you also do not have the resources for Classic WoD? If so, I see no reason for all of us to delete our guilds and lose our character names. In that case, there is no reason for any of us to transfer.

It does seem like a lot of reasonable sounding stuff. Consolidating realms is fair. However, all of the information about it seems to be promoting PVP realm players moving to a Normal realm.
Let’s not forget that Grobbulus is a destination realm for Faerlina, Whitemane, and Benediction. It should also be for any of the other PVP realms, but I didn’t see that in the other post:
There may be a small minority of players who are on other PVP realms, but forcing them to Normal, as well as the strong-handed “virtual realms only for the PVE server” are at least suggesting that you seem to think it’s preferred.
In any case though, while there are always going to be some negatives with major changes to large systems, overall I’m looking forward to the upcoming changes, and if having single servers for various WoW versions gives players more choices and developers more room to experiment, then I’m all for it.
So we can’t create a lvl 1 on the new server with our OWN name, then transfer and get our characters name changed? This is typically ALWAYS allowed during a transfer. Will we even be able to BUY a name change…like what…

About point 6. Why. It’s an indeed valid point to let people go into a unique smaller environment 100%.
But you’re giving the option to everyone else in the game to go to a mega-server, People in Grobb that want said experience should get the option to. I repeat, you’re alienating a server from everything else in the community. If people want to get in to Grobb for that, that is indeed chill, keep the server and said classic vibe alive, but give people an out too. Make it fair for everyone.
For most people playing PvE population size is the deal breaker, the already struggling raids, because it’s virtually impossible find players of similar skills levels of goals is gonna stay the same. Please give that more thought before we’re abandoned for months before you guys finally decide the server is actually ‘‘dead’’

a question.
what will happen to the current servers after weeks/months from now?
for example faerlina!
will it be locked so no one can create characters on it?
will people there be forced to transfer to the mega server at some point?
will it get shut down eventually?

I think this also allows people to grief others by taking their names no? Unless blizzard can find a way to prevent you from making a lvl 1 and using a name that is not tied to your account, but that sounds like a lot more work than just not allowing level 1s to be created on the server for a week or two.

So this is just a “GIANT MIDDLE FINGER” to every guild that isn’t on the Pagel server. quit being lazy and bring back the guild transfers. what your doing is rude to all of your player base and everyone that has spent so much of there time into the game. the only thing you are achiving here is to lose player base and piss people off.

this is a gunshot to the head of grobbulus if they do it is the problem, the server will immediately die and with it, the final pvp server explodes, absolutely no one will transfer to a realm with fcms off of it, they don’t want the other half of the server that wants to pvp to be on the forums raging that they killed grobb
