This is unacceptable. Kaivax help us out here, why isn’t this getting done in a timely manner? Can character services be opened back up so players can transfer?

i have been chatting with a support rep and I got some more information.

There was an issue with data when it was linked and it was causing a lot of problems, characters missing, losing progression and so on. Lots of issue so to make sure nothing else happens to the servers data they stopped it until they can get the data fixed and make sure nothing else is happening to player accounts. Once that is all fixed they will open those services up again.

I’m afraid I do not have specifics, Feloren. The realm connections were only postponed while the Khadgar issues are being addressed, so they likely won’t be available until those connections are completed. That is likely to be next week, but I don’t have an official date at the moment. As soon as that is available a post usually goes up in the General Discussion forum as well as a Breaking News. For any high latency you may be experiencing, assuming it is experienced by other folks in the zone…

There have been issues with characters on Khadgar being rolled back/deleted in the preparation for the connection and obviously thats a higher priority to get sorted for blizzard than people not being able to transfer characters.

I can only imagine the utter sysadmin spaghetti code nightmare that’s happening at Blizzard right now to result in issues like Khadgar. Someone is in the server room armed with duct tape, vodka, and marinating in a pool of developer tears.

I just hope you guys get ETAs on when regular functionality can be restored and (hopefully) if/when your servers are merged. Fourth time is the charm (fourth? Lost count).

they only failed twice now the realms have been disabled for 2 weeks however already.

But yeah the last outstanding connection and its interesting I wonder if new issues posed up that made blizzard seemingly abruptly stop the connection programme…

EU servers were promised more connections this week, well they never happened nor were any announced. and with no mention of further connections here I think the writing is on the wall… the OCE and TW connection this week are done so that leaves just Medivh -> Alleria as outstanding.

Connecting every OCE realm except Barth, even frostmourne was connected to others and its the most populated OCE realm.
