Realm Connections -- August 4

Thank you I had just figured that out. Oddly still shows “skywall” even though it was supposed to be moved. Thanks for the reply

All that happened is the skywall server data was copied onto the silvermoon server blade… you will still log in via skywall on the realm selection but once you have logged in your character has been put on the same server as silver moon if that makes any sense…

For the 4 servers that got merged, the host realms these servers are now located on are are: Cenarius, Silvermoon, Trollbane & Maelstrom. Cairne/Perenolde even got a realm time change to match that of it’s new host server (from Mountain time to Pacific time).

Connected realms. Merged realms in all but name. That way, no chance of the problem with people having the same name.

If they’re connected and have been connected then why do they still not exist on mine and a few of my friends’ accounts?

Which realm are you on? Hellscream wasn’t on the list for this round of newly connected realms.

There are some reports that some or all AH listings on the MaelhoofCo & Twisting Ravenholdt merge got quadruplicated. If someone from Blizzard reads this, I don’t know if you want to try to back it out or just leave it alone. If you back it out, you should double check what actually happened first.

sigh, this happened as well with the Aman’thul-Anub’arak merger last month in EU, might just be one of the complexities of merging the AH’s…

But how are they messing it up this badly when they already did massive numbers of realm connections back in 2014?

The people who did it and has the knowledge might have been the ones that got laid off in recent years.

How do you tell which realm is the host realm?

connect blackrock with tichondrius

You’d think they’d write a database script and test it…

Some people on the server said the EU had issues with deleted guild banks, but ours seemed okay.

What did they do with the Aman’thul-Anub’arak merger? I hope we don’t have to be rolled back.

Looks like the Perenolde/Cairne > Cenarius is a little glitchy, mainly on the guild side with rosters and the fact that Perenolde/Cairne guilds do not show up on the guild finder.

Expired auctions on Perenolde are doubled, lots of people reporting the same thing in trade chat.

Skywall isn’t even showing up on the realm list for me. How do I even log on if my characters aren’t showing?

Yes, I already checked out the Customer Support forum. No info there…

EDIT: I figured it out. What I did was I set the realms to list by name and then scroll down to find Skywall. I logged onto Skywall and back out, it made my characters show up.

Did you check near the bottom? It’s a high pop now, and my server didn’t show I had a character on it until I found it way down the realm list.

No, originally it showed as NO character. It didn’t even show up when I tried to list by character and population. I only found it when I changed the list to name/alphabetical.

API realm info checks, for the server ID… basically comparing the server ID of the merged servers to the original list of servers.

nothing, they just slowly hotfixed the problems that came up, as far as I know there are still a few minor issues but most have been resolved… I don’t actually play on that server so I don’t really know more than what’s posted on the German forums.

So they just let people keep the duplicated items?

As far as I know, extra items haven’t been taken away… and that merger was done on July 8 nearly a month ago.

They also did have problems over there with guild banks disappearing and people from the “guest” realm (the one that got copied over) losing their guild/being booted from guild. to my knowledge these have been 90% corrected though…

The mergers this week didn’t go nearly as smoothly on EU as they did here on US… of the 4 mergers they said they would do today there, only 1 went though, the other 3 didn’t merge but still got the same AH problems that Forscherliga/Todeswache had when that merger was attempted…

all in all that means there are 5 connections that blizzard announced on EU, yet didn’t fully materialise, (so far only 2 connections on EU actually worked). I still haven’t seen a blizzard statement on this though what the follow up will be.
