This is true on all servers, regardless of population, for most crafted products. People want to level their crafting, so they buy materials. Then they sell the results for what they can get, which is typically less than materials.
You actually have a better chance of making a profit on a low population server because it’s more likely that the number of crafters will be limited and be able to maintain an oligopoly. This is impossible on larger servers where the competition is intense.
Greater Flask of the Undertow, which I buy sometimes, is priced almost twice as high on Maelstrom as it is on average across North America. Maybe that’s why they aren’t selling - people like me are limiting our use because they are too expensive.
Maybe the materials are also overpriced, but that just means there’s an opportunity to make a lot of gold for the herbalists out there.
Unfortunately the relevant zones are CRZ, so I’m sure most of the herbs are whisked away to Emerald Dream or something.
Can we get more servers Connected to Drenden-Arathor? …preferably ones with large Horde populations, cause Alliance is overpopulated enough here, thanks.
The excuse is that the multiboxing herbalists are ED characters, where there is a bigger market, and not Maelstrom characters. I’m willing to believe that Maelstrom might not support more than a single boxer herbalist, which is inefficient.
That person complaining actually wasn’t on Maelstrom, they were on an oceanic server and I don’t think anyone will thank me because I am not farming the herbs for you. All I am saying is it just doesn’t take 6 weeks and if that person managed to buy 66k of herbs off the auction house, then that means it was possible to farm those herbs.
She said in post 119 she was on Maelstrom. The level 21 posting character may not be on Maelstrom, but it’s not making flasks, either.
I agree it’s possible to farm the herbs. I think it’s much more expensive in terms of time per herb than on our CRZ servers, because of the efficiencies involved on the larger servers.
Yeah, I’m dumb because I want my server to have more than 200 people online at prime time. I’m dumb because I want to be able to recruit people for raiding. I’m dumb because I want the AH to actually have stuff in it.
You are looking at the mats for a single pot. Those mats could be used for other pots. So having mats is better than having a specific pot - unless you are looking for that exact pot.
For example, if I have an alchemist, I’d rather have the mats than a specific pot cause I can make any pot I want (or that I’ve learned).
That’s why you are seeing pots for less than the mats to make them.
I think transmog market is down because there are less players and the players that are still here have a lot of the transmog they want. On top of that, some of the prices for transmog are pretty outrageous.
If we got an influx of new players w/ brand new accounts we’d see our transmog market improve after a year or so.
Yes well I just went and undercut the invaders by 50% and will keep on undercutting until they go away or my game time runs out but they will likely go away first.
I wasn’t showing any character in the realm select screen for Twisting Nether, but once I scrolled down to it an actually logged into the server my characters were there.
