I looked, but I don’t know the total US realms there are off the top of my head, considering I looked like an hour ago. Nice try, though.
To be fair, most realms are connected now giving you no honest way of knowing. Looking at WoW progress one more time. The only way to fix this in a way in which it isn’t 33/66 would have been to staple Hyjal and Kil’jaeden to Proudmoore. Or go with Brewa’s suggestion of Tichondrius to Proudmoore.
SO… for those of us who perhaps Just boosted a toon on Hyjal or Proudmoore precisely because of this announcement. Can we talk about a free transfer? Or just toss me a Beta invite and I’ll go be busy elsewhere til SL and probably won’t even remember it ever happened

No, you’re thinking of Stormrage. That’s the most populated alliance realm. A52 is horde, and proudmoore is not in the top 5. It’s number 10 on raider io’s list.
And I told ya Hyjal was lower pop.

Any chance of Saurfang getting some love? We’ve not had amazing progression on the server for a long time now (Kinda dried up when a lot of top guilds moved to Barthilas) and so we’re left waiting for cross-realm LFG to get Mythic kills because recruitment has been so dry trying to fill 20 spots total.

Wow. All the babies on Alliance whined. I agree to a certain point, but I’d have loved to see a much larger community for Horde. Thanks. Maybe throw Horde a bone sometime. Nip bigotry in the behind and claim Proudmoore as an official LGBT server and enforce some heavy rules against slurs and bullying behind the keyboard. Maybe then we might get the attention we deserve.

Don’t get me wrong, I’d love a larger Horde community on Proudmoore. But not at the expense of merging tens of thousands of people with the server that we’ve spent over a decade making a specific community on.
If this had gone through, sure, the Alliance community may not have been impacted much, but the LGBT friendliness of the Horde side would have been significantly impacted.
Agreed. But I’m trans, out and proud. I’m not bashful about reporting people, either.
I mean, I understand Proudmoore has a built up community but its pretty idiotic to think every other server would automatically hate anyone LGBT related. A few folks in this thread said they fall into that category, I fall into it as well. And Hyjal has been an amazing home for me and I wouldn’t trade my guild for anything.
But automatically damning everyone else just because of some flawed view, is just plain silly.
Besides, every server has trolls. That isn’t something Proudmoore owns rights to. 
While I am glad the connection isn’t happening, I still find this laughable. Why do you think so lowly of Hyjal folks? Genuinely curious. Hyjal Horde is chill and welcoming and I know quite a few LGBT folks here, none of which have ever had any problems with guilds or trolls in chat.

Super happy that the Proudmoore/Hyjal connection was reconsidered. It is near end of expansion and a lot of people have lapsed subscriptions or diminished play time on live realms which makes the numbers a little difficult to judge. I was against this merger due to the shenanigans of last expansion launch where the mega servers like Illidan, Area52 and Sargeras had significant issues the first week that made them unplayable. With a new expansion launch coming, the possibility of inviting this issue to two servers that are relatively large on their own and would likely be the largest server if combined was a big concern. As Neryssa noted, Aerie Peak or Lightbringer would probably be a better fit to be joined with Hyjal for time zone and based on the server raiding population. Those are easy to see as possible matches from wowprogress, though there may be some of the connected sets that would also work.
The lack of connection will still be a problem for the low population faction on these servers that will continue to be under served. Having migrated from a fairly dead server in Khaz Modan alliance to Hyjal horde because KM is a fairly dead realm, I feel their pain. There are a lot of really low population servers that are in desperate need of help for both sides of the faction. Khaz Modan was already connected to Azjol Nerub and has now been connected to Blackrock, which was horde heavy, and the result is that Khaz Modan alliance is still pretty dead. The moderate horde population from KM/AN added to Blackrock might help some, but more people on both sides would be welcomed.

I don’t see how this connection benefits any of these people on them. You’re cobbling these tiny number of players together into still tiny numbers of players.
Also we’ve yet to hear back on Thunderlord remaining with us…

Maybe. It would be easier if the realm populations on login were updated; and maybe, if we hover over a realm we can see the faction balance so we can make an informed decision on where we roll our toons.
I know a lot of people that do Alliance on an Alliance heavy server and Horde on a Horde heavy server. All my Horde is on Area 52.

Just canceled my sub. I am not on Hyjal but on a similar (number-wise) server and this shows me Blizzard still doesn’t have a clue. Imagine how the horde mains on Proudmoore or the alliance mains on Hyjal feel right now.
I will resub if my realm gets connected to another having a few hundred alliance players at least (I played for years on the same realm, my best wow memories are there plus I have too many alts to pay for realm transfer).

Sadly they are justified because people still harass and bully over sexuality. The world is ONLY focused on skin color. One day - both issues will be a thing of the past. Not yet…which is a joke.
