I would disagree on the basis that the faction imbalance on either realm is far from changing, outside of a realm connection. All of the Hyjal Alliance players either left the realm or transferred Horde a long time ago which led to Hyjal becoming a Horde heavy realm. Idk Proudmoore’s realm history, I’ve only played there since like 2015/2016. There are other realms that would have evened out the playing field; Proudmoore and Hyjal were not a compatible match.
This is really inaccurate? Because Proudmoore has nearly, if not, double the total realm population of Hyjal, with Proudmoore being a majority Alliance realm. Connecting the two would have made the Proudmoore/Hyjal CR an Alliance-based realm as a whole.
The best we as Hyjal’s Horde population could have hoped for here in this situation would have been a massive influx of Proudmoore players switching factions.
Honestly it was very upsetting to see the discourse as a LGBTQ+ woman myself. My guild and the population in general on Hyjal has been nothing but incredibly welcoming to me. Seeing petitions and everything treating us as the scum of the earth wasn’t fun.
I do believe there is some merit to what is said, even if it was blown out of proportion. We do however still need some horde on Proudmoore, its a ghost town there at the moment
And, I am an LGBTQ+ woman as well. People being treated like scum because of that is terrible, but I don’t think that has ANYTHING to do with the server merge and people are blowing stuff WAY out of proportion. Neither server is anti-LGBTQ+.
I meant in terms of how server population was divided, that part is on me. The best way to put this is that according to wow progress. If you took the majority population of both servers and squared them up against the minority population of both servers based on Mythic progression. It’s 193 vs 7.
I think it’s safe to agree that some realms are beyond the point of no return in the sense of faction balancing. The only way (or only way I can think of anyways) of achieving faction balance is through connected realms.
Other than CR’s, ActiBlizz would have to allow free realm/faction transfers, or majorly reduce the costs of each. Otherwise, the realms will just remain dominated by one faction or the other.
And we all know they ain’t gonna reduce any costs, let alone drop them all together. Although the free gender change option in SL is a glimpse of hope.
I’m not upset over not being connected to Proudmoore. As I’ve said earlier, I found it very confusing to be merged with Proudmoore, considering how big that server is.
Honestly I would like to have Hyjal merged with another low pop server that can bring more Alliance to Hyjal. I don’t mind if the server has a larger Horde population; I just want to have a larger Alliance community to play with instead of the almost non-existent community Hyjal has right now.
