War mode is CRZ sharded and the balance there has nothing to do with the balance on your server. What you’re seeing is the fact that the H:A ratio in war mode across all of the NA region is over 3:1. That wouldn’t change with this merger.
Exactly.
It’s REALLY depressing how many people don’t understand how WoW works. I just had a guy in another thread insisting that his server Mal’ganis is connected to “many realms”. (It’s not a connected realm at all.)
yeah cause they think crz and sharding is the same thing as connected.
Welcome to the Hyjalian brothers I guess
I did the same thing alliance side transferring my toons that were on Stormrage, including my main, to Lightbringer towards the end of MoP and I’ve been much happier ever since. I really hope Blizz reconsiders and leaves Proudmoore, Hyjal, and Lightbringer alone.
How? Because they aren’t actually combining servers so there will not be queue times as a result of this (also for the record I have been on Proudmoore for ages and never once had a login wait…).
Additionally, with PM being almost all Alliance and less than 1000 Horde, and Hyjal having less than 1000 Alliance, how will trade chat change?
Answer: It won’t.
Folks gotta get off this argument about the impending technical screw ups. The simple truth is there aren’t enough people on servers anymore to see those mass waits to log in.
My guild and I welcome the change. It will be nice to make some new friends.
This is now very confusing. Hyjal is listed as high population and Proudmoore as full population. I thought the whole point of this was to help low population realms? Not make full populations even… fuller? There really should be an explanation behind this one. I can’t even imagine the queue times in the coming months.
Probably because the PM Horde community is completely dead, as is Hyjal Alliance community too and Blizz wants balance for all servers so none are one-sided. It’s a way to keep players from each of the lower populated faction sides playing without forcing realm changes.
This has been asked and answered throughout this forum many times in the last 2 days. They will still be separate servers with separate login queues. It will not affect server stability.
It isn’t going to balance it, it will be ally heavy unless they are going to add another horde server to it
and if they want to fix like what 1k to 2k players on each server give them free transfers
Indeed, would’ve been the only positive of your situation and honestly I’m getting very annoyed with how they work, always having to switch realms, I have many, many realms, 30 of them with a single char on that have been connected by now, and could easily get reduced to just 10 realms login screens, but noooo, have to switch 30 times to cycle them all for emissaries.
You are only keeping in mind the american situation.
I’ve said it before (not that you should’ve seen it, but I mean it’s not that I didn’t predict it): in the first round of connections, 2013-2014, EU connections were A LOT more aggressive than US, we had really big connected realms like tarren mill (full) + dentarg (low) back then, and it’s now still one of the biggest realms EU, on the other hand you didn’t have any big connected realms, looks like that is about to change, including last week’s american connection: aegwynn + garrosh, if blizzard swapped the new players mark to some other realm, you can be sure that connection would be marked as FULL!
Indeed. Why don’t they merge Proudmoore with Tichondrius, instead? They’re equal pop.
the ppl from proudmoore seem to think it is going to ‘ruin’ the economy so maybe the prices will go down.
I would be okay with that. Then they actually would have something to complain about.
If Blizz announced they were merging Tich with Proudmoore, I would be personally stoked, since I play on both. But I would also understand people on Proudmoore being upset.
Tich was a PvP server and we can be a saltier lot. I would love it, but I would understand the blow back from Proudmoore’s more carebear attitude.
However, Hyjal isn’t Tich or Malganis. Hyjal and Proudmoore will fit together fine.
Hyjal and Proudmoore, really? I checked the population on both, Proudmoore has almost 15.5k. 94% of the population on Proudmoore is Alliance. On Hyjal, there are about 7.2k, just about half of the population of Proudmoore. But on Hyjal there is only about 7% of the population are Alliance. It does seem they are trying to balance out both servers.
If I have to compete with the entire server to complete one quest, then I’m jumping to a lower pop server.
With sharding questing won’t really be that big of an issue .
Wondering if the realms that have undergone connections already might be connected to additional realms? Or if that is basically it.
Well according to rio hyjal is low pop.
Uh…I don’t want to be rude but some of these are a mess.
Merging two servers who are fine on their own (being Hjyal and Proudmoore) population wise while some of the smaller servers won’t reach numbers equal to either one of them after being merged with 4 or 5 other servers is kind of…well pathetic.
Are you guys actually looking at what you are merging or picking out of a hat?
