As I said, I was hopeful that we would get a merger so I could raid again.
I used to raid on Illidan when I worked night shift. Now I work days and Illidan is all asleep when I get home.
Been on this PST server for a few years now and Blizz decided to wave some hope in front of me, then crush the hope they gave me by joining my PST realm with realms that will be in bed when I get off work.
yeah there have been issues with guild chat/banks on the servers that get copied, blizzard has acknowledged this, they said its something with the systems being overhauled quite significantly since the mop merger time.
On EU-Amanāthul everyone was made guildless even when that server was copied over to Nazjatarā¦ it took blizzard like a week to fix that.

Keep hoping they give the Aussies a pass. Weāve already got a few decent sized server clusters.
Dreadmaul/Thaurassian is currently the least populated server in the whole US region, just saying 
I know.
Hoping for dathāremar myself since Iāve got characters there, but that wonāt happen.
Weāre medium pop. Dunno if theyāll actually connect us or not.

I mean I wouldnāt count it out, they could easily get rid of 3-5 OCE servers and all except Barth/Frosty have mediumish populations at best. Considering the connections they are doing on EU I could even see frostmourne/barth getting connected to one of the dead OCE servers.

Cael/Nagrand is high pop. Think dathāremar and itās buddy are too.
Thereās I think only one or two low pop OCE servers so idk and I think theyāre connected. Iād have to look again.
but you have to consider, they are connecting some of the biggest German servers (Blackhand/blackmoore) to some really dead realmsā¦ they could do the same in OCE
Nagrand/Dath have no where near the pop of Aegwynn which they are connecting on US as well

Looks like AT and Saurfang are the only two not connected. AmanāThul has third lowest population. If you believe wowprogress, whoās data is outdated.
They could connect us to Saurfang and double the population.
Could a Blue Post please indicate to us what will happen with Dunemaul? Are we going with those other servers or are we becoming separate server again? A little heads up would be niceā¦

I like raider io more for population estimatesā¦ wow progress only tracks characters that are part of a guild and have done raid contentā¦ raider io will track everyone who has been part of a key group and just tracks more people in general.

Cenarion Circle/Sisters of Elune - Are these considered low pop? I rarely see anyone when doing any old content.
Garona is dead, you wonāt notice a difference.

In addition to the fact they have different PVP backgrounds, and thus would make for a poor culture match in that way, this is another good reason not to merge them. Maelstrom and the other servers in the Maelstrom cluster have traditionally been Horde heavy, and their culture has formed around that. Mash together realms with overly conflicting cultures, and you have a recipe for even more unsubscriptions. The result of such a merger would likely go right back to low population within one expansion.
Indeed, I definitely see it on blizzard to connect oceanic barthilas or frostmourne to some minor realm, and Iām also glad to see someone who knows how new players realms work (aegwynn us for example).
Cause a lot of people keep saying their realm is new players, worse than low pop, just cause on realm list itās ordered on top, however most new players realms are actually high, and with those numbers, Iām not sure if aegwynn us might actually be full!
Realm time affects the day/night cycle as well. If you donāt care about that, you can always set the clock to reflect your own local time.
I mean new player realms are nothing more than a label that the game will automatically log you into when you create a new account, it doesnāt really have any baring of the population of the serverā¦ Some like gallywix/Drakkari are dead and I use my toons parked there really just for camping rare spawns, The 2 US ones are more livelyā¦ important though is only 1 connected Realm per locale will be labelled as new players (1 East coast servers, 1 west coast server, 1 Brazilian server, and 1 Latin American server, interestingly there isnāt one labelled as such for our oceanic Aussie friends)
No it doesnāt, its set according to a certain timezone that counts region wideā¦ For US servers its based of Pacific time (UTC-7/8 depending on the time of year) thats why Aussies always complain about the skybox being reversed from what time of day it is in Australia.

So they are all on Pacifiic day/night cycle? That would also explain the late darkness in the morning that I noticed.
