It would indeed be very easy for Blizzard to address the specific situation of Bloodsail Buccaneers, either by giving us a virtual realm or exempting us from being closed. Blizzard, please do that.
The guild problem appears to be a harder one, and one that affects everyone, BSB and non-BSB alike. Not rushing into this and just taking the time to do connected realms would solve the problem. So would doing guild transfers.
I hope we will see some new communication to address these concerns soon!

Yeah, there are solutions to the problem. But until they announce one don’t trivialize or discount the problem. It’s legitimately a big deal for lots of players.
He doesn’t have any real numbers?! He’s pulling them out of his @$$ and changing them with every other post. He’s just trolling.

Let’s put a pin in EVERYTHING ELSE for a brief moment, and explore this
How many people in this thread have said the same? “What about guild transfers?” “Are there going to be guild transfers” “please allow guild transfers”
Let us pretend everyone will willing take the free transfers, we the players want to transfer as a guild to the mega servers. Why? Achievements, guild name, unlocks granted by guild achievements, banners, pets, mounts…bank tabs, bank items.
I personally see THREE things people will/would want preserved through guild transfers… the bank tabs, with it’s bank items and the guild achievements… because the achievements unlock stuff from the guild vendor. You REALLY think people want to regrind making flasks, fishing up fish, etc aaaaallllllll over again? I sure as hell don’t.

Why yes, you are correct random WoW player on the forum thank you for that, but (and I shudder to use this hated phrase) it’s the sense of pride and accomplishment that you put in with your guild to unlock that crafting recipe, get that legendary, get that realm first clear.
No guild transfers…erases all that.
And this is just ONE of the talking points of the feedback we are trying to get across to you!

Hold on.
When classic first swapped to BC they carbon copied the realm exactly as it was with all characters and guilds. Cant that tech just be done on these realms. And put the copy on the connected realm. Call it Atiesh-new and then after the perfect realm copy occurs you just rename the server to Atiesh.
Theres no way this should cause the same DB issues as the connecting problem and server names have to be an editable field.

I have toons on both Benediction and Sulfuras both of which are PVP…the post says those servers are going to Pagle…problem is I want PVP so Grob… does that mean I have to pay to go over to Grob? Is only Pagle free?
Guild banks and guild achievements did not exist back then. There were fewer things to copy over. Not saying it should be nearly as difficult as they’re making it seem, but it was also 4 expansions ago and there’s been a lot more bloat.
They also had to shut down AH for 3 days to make it happen back then. Doing that in the middle of an expansion when people are raiding would be far more impactful than right before a pre-patch, which is another reason not to rush to do this mid-expansion. If this goes poorly on Tuesday and they have to extend downtime, it’ll really screw over Tue/Wed raiding guilds that have already had their schedules messed up with 3 separate raid releases on Thursdays so far.
So this means you have absolutely NO plans to allow entire guilds transfers? Well gee thanks! Glad to know all the HARD work that we’ve put into unlocking achievements was all for nothing. Can we do it again? Sure we can, but WHY should we HAVE to?!
Plus, Atieshes population was FINE! There was literally NO need to even do this.
And what about the guild we went and made on Pagle in advance assuming (correctly) you wouldn’t allow us to bring our guild with us, (messed up move by the way. Callous and uncaring as usual towards your player base, but what else would I expect?), so what now?
Do we just keep it and be ready to start over on achievements and inviting people?! And can people from Lei Shen just… join it? Can someone on Pagle named say "Karikoxx-Pagle in the guild named “Myguildxoxo” /ginvite Kariko-Lei Shen to “MyGuildxoxo” and then make me the GM of “Myguildxoxo” if they so wished?
How will this all work? And why are you even doing this to a server with a HEALTHY populations like Atiesh even had?!

Atiesh has a perfectly healthy population that you are eviscerating for no good reason, and causing unneeded discourse.
NOT everyone wants to play on a stupid “mega server!” I transfered off of one on purpose.
What you SHOULD have been focusing on, is LFR or FLEX raiding!

it would be awesome if blizzard ban gdkp on those new servers.
gdkp’s doesn’t make the game appeal to new newcomers or most players, gdkp’s is just for those real money traders and it kills the spirit of this mmorpg seeing how people buy / sell gold and even charge gold in mop’s raid if you used ur own charm of good fortune to win bonus loot.
raid items is bind when picked up instead of being boe for a reason so the ability to sell all those raid items is just death blow to normal players! and only those who get irl benefits are happy about this crap system.

Some believe that because of Poe’s law people should always add something like /sarcasm or /joke to posts. I think that if people are too stupid to get sarcasm they deserve to be confused by it.
Poe’s law is an adage of Internet culture which says that, without a clear indicator of the author’s intent, any parodic or sarcastic expression of extreme views can be mistaken by some readers for a sincere expression of those views.
That would be the perfect name for BSB.

I have played most of my time on WoW on RP servers going back to original BC and WOTLK. I played for a bit on a PvP server and we all quickly returned to RP due to the toxicity and trolling. I recently started playing again and after completing the campaign and becoming bored with retail (despite the bustling activity in Dornogal and seeing tons of players everywhere I went) I decided to give Cata Classic a try to have a slower pace and have find that nostalgia I was looking for.
I chose Bloodsail specifically because they were the only RP server available and quickly found a thriving community. Friendly interactions with random players while questing, and the occasional groups RPing. It very quickly gave me the nostalgia I was looking for from those early days of WoW where you might help out a player that accidentally aggro’ed Hogger, or stumbling into some wacky RP going on in the middle of Crossroads. I knew quickly this realm was exactly what I was looking for in returning to the game.
Then I found even more than I could hoped for by joining the Relaxed guild, which is one of our larger guilds and has been active for over five years. We have several hundred unique active accounts with nearly 1,000 active toons. But despite the guild’s size, we all know each other, help each other, and are like a family.
So disregard the resident troll’s claims that our server is dead. It is anything but. While raiding might not be the goal for many of our players, I’ll say that BsB has a fantastic community that is forming parties daily for world bosses, bustling capital cities and Vale, and absolutely not a “solo” experience in any means. We are a thriving community, who are focused on positive player interactions, embracing every different way or pace that people wish to play the game, and most of whom are quite deliberately here for those reasons.
So with that Blizzard, please consider leaving BsB as is or at least not closing us off from new players. Let us continue to be the sole Classic RP server and let us be in control of our own fate. As you can see by the turnout here representing the Buccaneers, we are passionate, but also very welcoming. I would hope our testimonies here have inspired some new players to come check us out.

I get that maybe the optics here from BSB is that we’re all desperate for Bliz to tailor a solution specific to us. I’m guessing that’s where the entitlement claims are coming from as well. There are people that want a shard for us but it seems for many of them it’s “If we have to play with Pagle and everyone else give us a shard.” Most of us would be fine if NOTHING changed on our end or if they simply opened up the free server transfers as planned but left us open. What we absolutely can not just roll over and accept is them closing off our community entirely or dumping us in with the general population like they want to now and we’re offering various options on how to take care of us depending on where the line is on what’s negotiable. We don’t NEED the extra resources or to be jumped up the line in priority. We just don’t want to be forced over a ledge we can’t come back from and if we HAVE to go over that ledge here’s how we want to do it.
The big mystery on the guild transferring and all the questions surrounding that are 100% an issue that needs to be addressed and we’re not indifferent to that in the least but that issues also not as specific to BSB. We DO support solutions for this because if we have to move it’s going to bite us too but for now we’re hoping it won’t be an issue because the above issues are addressed. If we find out we have to relocate or isolate, I believe we’ll fall in right behind everyone else on the guild issue. Sorry if this has lead to a misunderstanding of our stance on the matter, but we’re just extremely passionate about the community being under fire. Also, we absolutely appreciate the support. Thanks!
