Blizzard has looked at the cost of buying tabs and the amount of gold guild members have and decided guild transfers to save tabs just isn’t needed. You can easily afford to rebuy them.
Allowing achievements to follow guilds during transfers isn’t in the spirit of classic so we can’t allow that. But we are considering nerfing the xp required by 25% so it will be easier to reacquire them.
Yup… of course the guy just came out and said why they arent doing it though… they got no time and arent willing to spend a dime on the matter. Its you lose, we save, deal with it brand of customer service… lol
You know the funny part of that is if they give themselves more time to do this… More subscriptions come in… Then they have more money to accomplish this in a more acceptable fashion. Do a couple servers at a time if need be. But the do everything by tomorrow attitude is the beating heart of the issue.
The issue isn’t just bad decisions it’s that Blizzard no longer prioritizes the players. Their focus is on investors, not the community. And the only way to make Blizzard listen is to make their investors feel the pressure we’re feeling.
How? By refusing to transfer. If we stay on our current servers and let the new realms sit empty, it sends a message that hits where it matters most: their bottom line. A drop in engagement, subscriptions, and server activity directly affects investor ROI and that is something Blizzard can’t ignore.
This isn’t just protest. It’s leverage. No transfers. No compliance. No silence. Let the numbers speak for us louder than any forum post ever could.
the best case for BSB would be to leave us as we are and link the AH cross server. let us grow. continue to ignore us and let us have our community. since they aren’t giving us that option… we are asking for the same chance to keep our community. nothing else.
we have not asked for anything else in this whole stinking pile of feces that they are forcing on all of us. Yes rpers are diferent and that is not a bad thing… we love this game, the lore, the stories… boith existing and those we’ve written over time. we have our own culture on BSB as do all of the other servers. Our names are just as important as everyone else’s…so are our guilds and our community. We built a welcoming, helpful, and positive community…the price of a meh AH seems small compared to that. and we have been growing…people coming back, checing ot mop, and many refugees from the mega servers. they came not for our UBER raid and arena logs…they came and stayed for the community.
Ive stayed because of my guild and the community…if it weren’t for that i would have been gone long ago. I’ve played most MMos since 1999EQ beta and muds and mux before that. this server is unique in all of that time. the community is like nothing I’ve seen anywhere else. I’m not a 20 year wow vet… i started playing wow on day one of classic launch. the friend i started with lasted about a week before deciding it wasn’t for him. I stuck around and by some miracle i wound up here…and i couldn’t imagine playing this game without all of you and this server community. and if that gets taken away…Blizzard gan get effed along with whatever poor mount they can force to carry them.
The usual beeboop paragraph is about 90 minutes away. Wouldnt be suprising if it was something like streamers can create multiple copies of characters on different servers. That seems to be “logical” direction of how things are going.
It’s actually a better idea for the majority of players. All they really seem to need to do is add an exception to BSB for the people that want to play on a server with just their small community that doesn’t like outsiders or whatever. They can already continue to play there and choose not to transfer as the OP describes, so it’s just a matter of not locking it, which is a minor change.
That would have been a horrendous and horrible experience for everyone involved. The PvP servers have been one-sided PvE servers for years at this point. Your suggestion would have forced everyone to suddenly re-enter a gankfest and they would have hated it and demanded free xfers somewhere else.
It will be a small protest since most of the people on the larger servers would prefer to be on a megaserver anyway. They made their original servers into mega-servers rather than spread out onto smaller servers in early classic. Blizzard tried to pressure them to spread out by limiting layering and having login queues and that’s just not what people wanted. People want to be on a server with more players so they can actually play the game reliably.
They also showed they didn’t care to maintain faction balance and preferred to be at a significant advantage if they were on a PvP server. That’s why only one server maintained faction balance. Nobody else cared about it.
all depends on why you play.
not everyone is interested in chasing pixels and parses…just like not everyone is interested in pvp or rp. there is room for all of us.
for you it might well better… and i have no issue with that.
One of the best things about this game is it allows for the super sweaty pasre and pixel chasing, the arena monsters to chase their rankings, the crafters, the altoholics, the quest junkies, and yes…even RPers. we all love this game. we all pay to play.
we are all getting forced into something we never asked for that is being rushed to the point of straight up incompetence…and all we get is excuses as to why our guild arte getting killed. time and money…right trilion dollar corp. and the only time frame is the one blizzard has arbitrarily created for themselves.
All of us want to keep our names, our guilds, our hard work, and our communities.
all we hear from @GarnetHound and the other devs is excuses, double speak and outright lies.
and quite frankly i am done.
to the bluebots out there…Lava lash was NOT a success…it was a trainwreck and you bloody well know it. not that there is a single jack or jill of you that has any effing clue about your players and why we are here.
s t f u and move on with your life.
dead is when you cannot have enough players for any kind of activity.
and second, it’s not your decision to make if a realm is dead or not.
stop being a troll for the sale of being a troll!
They are not. Small realms aren’t good for raiding but after you get about 5k players it’s just as good as the mega-servers. And the mid size realms are better in many other ways. Chats are easier to read, it’s often impossible on the mega-servers and farming is easier.
If we’re so small then why do people care if we move over or not? You aren’t gonna notice the extra “200” people. I agree that guild transfers need to be fixed for everyone. Even offer the free transfers off BSB. Just don’t lock it. The lumping us in with the Locked realms is what we don’t want.
They tried to force faction balance in Season of Discovery and ultimately discovered that doesn’t work that well either. They had to give people free transfers to PvE servers when they started to hemorrhage players.
They’re giving the one server the chance to keep faction balance and helping them keep it with locking. The other servers didn’t care so why should it be forced on them now?
Accountability? If you were in charge you’d drive far more players away from classic than Blizzard is. You refuse to accept reality or what was demonstrated by years of player behavior.
I do think once they figured out their virtual server plan they should just expand on that and auto-transfer guilds and players to the new virtual servers. Even if they have to limit it to people who have logged in in the last year or something to save time.
