I’m less concerned about whether dragonriding replaces regular flying than I am curious about where dragonriding goes from here.
Is dragonriding the complete and final form of this new system or are the devs planning to eventually add to the talent tree? (eg: will there some day be actual air-to-air combat added?)
Would other families of mounts use these same mechanics or will they get their own variations of flying introduced over time with their own unique twists and niches where they are the superior tool?
apologies, but that will never happen… blizzard has clearly stated that normal flying will be coming to dragon isles at a later date…
Dragon riding is listed as an “expansion feature” under achievements because it will stay in dragon isles the same way that torghast and garrisons stayed in shadowlands and WoD.
Ah yes because companies have never changed their minds before! Thats just plain crazy talk to even think every developer and publisher keep their words.
“Normal flying will exist in all zones where it has previously been available, but the only way to fly in the Dragon Isles is with Dragonriding.”
That is pretty definitive. One would hope the author has a source to back it up. NOTE article written just 2 weeks ago.
As I’ve said, I hope to god this guy is wrong, but Ion has lied plenty of times in the past too. So I take what he says with a massive salt cellar.
So only max levels will be able to do a lot of leveling content, which you won’t do…
But sure, remove access to all zones that require flying of low levels. That’ll surely bring in waves of new players.
Being grounded for 60 levels is the glorious future of wow! Hey, while you’re at it you can get rid of ground mounts, too, since you want the leveling experience to suck donkey eggs.
And while you’re at it, you can remove everybody’s mounts, since you think nobody should have them. Why not also remove transmog, if collecting is evil?
you do know that the author of this article you linked has zero affiliation with blizzard and did not quote any blizzard source at all within their article, right?
sorry you don’t work for blizzard, so you have no say over the matter… the staff at blizzard has officially stated that normal flying will come to dragon isles at a later date
You really are terrible at grasping concepts, see above where i sarcastically stated because companies keep their word all the time … except they dont. Naivity is so cute sometimes.
Thinking about buying a boat your tears when flying is gone may flood the world.
I just wish we had a slow / hover mode on dragons for doing more precise things like landing on specific platforms for herbing or high point captures. The number of times I’ve touched a high point then flew off in the cutscene and fell to my death, while comical, is a tiring after the first few attempts.
I mean there are an amazing amount of things game companies have stated theyd do and flipped script after, if you legit dont think that, losing normal flying soon is the least of your worries
