Must be a miscommunication somewhere, I do not think it helps new or old players in anyway, just makes people buy the game, so blizzard makes new classes. I never said I had/need data, just that it would help, I was also agreeing with you so I do not understand what you are pointing out countering.
This is why data would help, but there does seem to be a relationship in xpac sales and classes, wolk, pandaria, legion, and now df. So I think there is obviously some relationship. Regardless, if blizzard thinks it will make money, it will be done even at the expense of players or the health of the game. You do not need data for that lol.
What are you talking about? there are priests, rogues, warlocks (and demons) and dragons in WC3.
Clearly… you haven’t played it. There are literally units with those exact names.
Yes, Evoker as a concept was half-made up… but that’s exactly why that’s lame. Let’s not make the same mistake twice. And, at least Evokers DO have extensive connection to the lore through all the Dragons in WoW. Where is the singing all over WoW to justify this Bard class?
The problem is that they’d make a class almost no one wants, and then other things more people actually want end up in the back burner. Just like no one cares about Earth Dwarves, but people have been requesting Naga, Ogres, Vrykul or other races for a while.
Why does there need to be an example of them at all?
What’s wrong with adding a traditional fantasy RPG class to the game? What’s it harming for you? With the buffing evokers around, we could use another class for that utility.
For WoW I think that would fit best as a Rogue Support spec rather than a full class. Personally I’d rather have 4th specs over a new class at this point, though it would probably be a lot more work than a new class.
Blizzard seem to have trouble balancing the ones we got at the moment, I think taking a break from introducing new classes for awhile would be good. lol
