There are already so many classes and specs in game, and a lot of them are pretty badly neglected.
I’d be happy without any more being added when so many that we currently have are in need of adjustments and attention from the devs.

I think if they add bard it shouldnt be its own class. We don’t need more classes or races. but add it as a spec for rogue. Bards are known for being pickpockets and cunning. Add it as a rogue spec that can heal/dps.
Been wanting a tinker since wrath. I got super hopeful when king mekatorque or however you spell it came in with his big robo suit in legion
I think they should let you be an evoker as a gnome.
Just puttin’ it out there.
Discuss.
WoW did something weird here and made these a profession (Engineering) instead of a class, presumably so the “combat support” they give would be available to any class who wishes to add it to their arsenal. Overall Blizzard doesn’t seem keen to add “support” classes even when they’re welcome in D&D or other similar games.
There is a very clear history between D&D and WoW, but given the IP issues WoTC recently created with their revocation of the open license, I doubt that Blizzard wants to claim it given what they would have to do to clean up any references to it.
Did you mean glasses?
omg why are you being weird.
If they can pull evoker out of no where in the world they can add anything they want like a bard and make it fit wow’s theme.
find me a evoker in warcraft 3
I notice many people saying, ‘No more classes; the ones we have are not balanced or are bad.’ It’s a fair argument. However, I’d like to point out that even with the original classic classes, Blizzard couldn’t get the formula right. While I agree Blizzard needs to improve what they have, I think using class population as a reason to argue against more classes is weak. Moreover, I believe new classes can significantly attract both new and old players, leading to increased revenue—after all, a new class means more money. So, I’d be shocked if Blizzard didn’t introduce more. Just my thoughts.
I had an idea of evoker mechagnome…just give it robot wings and a robot dragon head.
I’m all for more classes, more specs and more professions. I’m even for unique class specs (or classes) that are restricted to specific races.
As for Bard, I’d love to see it added. However … I would prefer it to be a Secondary Profession. I want jam sessions with large groups!
I’d like to see a machinist spec that puts turrets down and shoots a gun with specialized bullets for abilities!
I suspect this is the major driver behind class development. Blizzard tends to give us a new class (often with a new race, because why not?) every other xpac or so. This is how we got death knights, monks, demon hunters, and evokers. They tend to be the hotness for the xpac in which they are released and for awhile afterward, but eventually they decline and suffer their ups and downs along with all the other classes. When you spent at least a couple xpacs at the top of the damage meters, though, that feels bad, man. DKs and monks aren’t doing too well these days, and as someone who mained a monk during Pandaria that is rather sad; Evokers are at the top of Mythic+ and Season 3 raiding with demon hunters immediately after. Game balance will always be difficult and probably never perfect, but Blizzard tends to stack the balance in favor of new classes and then lets them come crashing down in favor of the next new thing. I guess that’s fine if you like to ride the new class carousel or don’t care whether your class is competitive or desirable for top tier end game content, but for a lot of players otherwise committed it breeds resentment every time the next class is introduced.
Maybe you could tour as an opening act for The Tauren Chieftains.
I agree. Personally, I believe that since new classes generate revenue, much of this discussion boils down to ‘It is what it is,’ considering how capital is king for Blizzard
Counter point.
If you dont enjoy WoW, a new class is only going to keep you around short term. I dont feel that the amount of people that would keep playing or come back to WoW and stay for no other reason than a new class is that large.
I’d be down with a Bard. Another I’d like to see would be a Necromancer.
Without data, it’s challenging to determine if new classes generate long-term players. From my experience, evokers seem to be quite rare. You’re probably right that they don’t, but consider how many individuals purchase the expansion solely for the new class or how the class serves as the primary motivation for purchase, even if they don’t stick with it in the long run. That alone is sufficient to justify creating a new class; a new class equals revenue, even if it’s not the primary selling point. I don’t think “enjoyment” matters as much as money does to Blizzard. I would guess that considering every expansion has player count drop-offs, there’s a significant initial sale followed by a slowdown, with little concern for overall growth. It’s about maximizing profit with minimal effort. So what makes more, subs or xpacs. I would guess xpacs sales, as they are always the foremost when blizzard talks about earnings.
Sure.
But you put forth the idea that it would help both new and old players…with no data.
So I just countered I felt differently. No need to suddenly say data is needed now.
I still feel the amount of people that buy the expansion purely because of the existence of a new class is rather low. I would say nearly everyone buys it regardless.
we need more of lots of things.if you don’t want more classes DONT play it . Whoa and this game is DND inspired.
