So, I’m having the WORST performance in almost 17 years playing WoW and this problem started with the launch of TWW, during DF everything was just fine. Let me tell you my PC specs first:
RTX 3070ti / R7 3800x / X570 Aorus Elite / 32gb 3200Mhz / 2x SSD M2
During the DF expansion, I could play on Ultra (open world and mythic raiding) at 1440p with 50-80fps easy without a sweat. Now, I’m struggling to play (inside Raids, open world is fine) with 15-30fps max with EVERYTHING set to Low. All the other games works just fine. Today I was doing some tests with RDR2 and could play with a mix of Ultra/High settings, 1440p with a Min 60fps and a Max 130fps so Idk whats going on with WoW
What I have tested so far:
1- reinstalling the game AND a clean installation of my addons (from zero, no backup files)
2- reinstalling the Windows (I’m using Windows 11)
3- my Windows is up to date, nvidia drivers, BIOS, every single driver is up to date.
4- Played with and without my addons. Got and extra +10fps without any addons, but still had to play with everything set to low.
5- Absolutely NO DIFFERENCE between 1440p and 1080p too.
6- And lastly, after may hours of research this afternoon, I found out about this app called Process Lasso that you can do a few tweaks around your CPU. I changed the power performance thing to AMD Ryzen High Performance and after the little tweaks with Lasso, I could play with 40-60fps on Silken Court / Queen Raid Finder. Got a little FPS boost there, but still playing on everything set to low.
So thats it! I’m out of options, dont know what to do and the GMs said on my previous ticket that the WoW forum might be the place for this. I still refuse to believe that I HAVE to buy another CPU ONLY for WoW since every other game plays just fine…

How did you perform this step? Were they removed from the directory and a UI reset was performed? Otherwise, you can’t rule them out.

Played the game right after the first clean install AND after I downloaded all my addons again. (I’m the author, btw. Don’t know why the post was made with my alt and not my main, this one)
But what if one of those addons is causing this?
But that doesn’t make sense because I just said I played the game right after I clean installed it AND without any addons. The problem was still there but a little “better”, but still had to play with everythin set to Low.
The way you worded it, I understood it as reinstalling the game and addons together before playing.
Edit: Anyway, did you check for overheating? Want to run some performance tests?
You need to check temps. Maybe there’s thermal throttling.
Sorry for that! And about overheating, everything is just fine too.
Now about the tests you suggested, I did all of them but didn’t finished the RAM test because I didn’t know it could take the whole day to complete lol So I’m gonna try again another time but ran for almost 1 hour and found 0 problems.
Also did Prime95, didn’t understand if it was done or not but after a long waiting time, no errors, no problems.
I’m trying to post the results here but I have never used blizz forums before, but I cant post the links to show you, I’m a newbie lol Idk how to post links like you did xD
Ok maybe I found a way to post them

Might be one of the drives: WD Green 240GB or Corsair Force NVMe PCIe M.2 480GB
On the first one, those write speeds are very slow (would probably swap it to extra storage only). The second has good initial speeds, but didn’t finish the test for some reason.
I’m guessing WoW is on one of the SSDs? I also see an older HDD in there (and WoW requires an SSD), so that’s why I’m asking.
Yes, I do have 4 storage options. The oldest one, is my 2TB HDD that I use only for random files, like Torrents, console emulators etc. I don’t change whats not broken hahaha The other one was my first SSD many years ago, I use it for my Windows and where I install my apps. Then comes the 2 SSDs M2 that I use for gaming only, one with 480GB (WoW is there) and the other is a 1TB one.
I also have other games installed where WoW is and I have absolutely ZERO problems with them. Like Marvel Rivals, No Man’s Sky and Elder Scrolls Online - another MMO that it runs 1000% more smoother than WoW in every single place.
Is there a way to test these SSDs to see whats wrong? I know YOU are the tech expert, but in MY head, its strange the problem only affects WoW and no other game whatsoever
So your Windows is installed on one of your slowest drives but you’re saying that doesn’t affect anything else? That’s odd. Windows indexes all drives while you’re using the computer, so having that old HDD in there is not recommended. You can turn it off, but I really do not recommend that.
You can test them with CrystalDiskMark, then look up their benchmarks on sites that reviewed them.
Because userbenchmark benches the ssd by literally writing at max speed for 60 seconds. Their bench is at 2,000MB/s sequential write, which means that their drive would need roughly 120GB free to finish the test, whereas they only have 108GB free.
Didn’t look at the drive’s free space for this test, but probably correct
Yes, my windows is installed on my regular SSD (not the M2) and its been this way for many years lol I’ve NEVER had any problems not just with WoW, but with anything. The problem began with TWW, one week I was raiding Amirdrassil on Ultra and the next week I couldn’t get 30fps on everything set to Low. WoW is my only problem now.

Those results did not change my opinions about poor drive performance.
What are you using to test this? Can we see some screenshots of HWMonitor with all the hardware expanded?
I wasn’t tracking the temperature because I had a problem many years ago with my 2080Super and oh boy, I know when things start to get bad… Gonna send the screenshots I took while testing, again, Silken/Queen on Raid Finder.

Never used this before, so please tell me if I missed anything! Also, we dont usually raid on monday, but since we are almost killing mythic queen, we are gonna do a few runs tonight so if you want, I can do more tests later!
When servers get back up, can you screenshot your graphics settings?
Dont have to wait for the servers!
This is what I’m using it for now. But a few months ago when we were doing mythic Ovinax prog, I did many MANY tests and I just left it this way.
