Realistically possible getting a monthly WoW token?

You’re confusing the lack of complexity with a lack of desire. Most people, or at least the ones here, have been pointing out a sheer lack of desire to bother with them because they don’t want to micro manage them on a regular basis to save them $15 a month.

“This game isn’t worth $15 a month”

proceeds to do everything in his power to not pay the sub so he can keep playing

“Lol guys if you won’t put effort into making this game free you should just move on already”

If you have alts yes. I have 4 alts and the daily callings cover my wow tokens plus some profit. Calling bags avg out at about 1700g. Across 5 toons thats about 255k a month not including rep emissaries and selling of stuff on the AH. On my server ore, leather and cloth still sell decently compared to the effort involved. I also run my missions table and sell excess augment runes that rake in 50k for a stack

If your a gold farming goblin yes, otherwise no.

Yeah you can farm gold 3 hours per day to get that “free” token. Or you can do 1 hour of work irl and get that monthly sum. Its kinda obvious.

If you are doing world quest callings for different covenants, you would be playing and experiencing the different parts of the xpac. So it might not be a good comparison.

Been doing callings on 3 toons and can pay the token each month.

Up it to 4 toons just to get extra gold.

Someone saying they don’t want to grind gold doesn’t mean they’re burnt out on the game. How did you put it earlier?

I haven’t had too much trouble keeping up with the tokens. I mostly just sell materials I find, create the components for legendaries, and the calling reward is a good chunk of change.

Never really sat down to grind any of it, but I make all my own consumables so I don’t have a lot of gold flowing out besides repair bills. Herbs and mats might be cheap, but the actual crafts sell pretty well (least on my server).

Whenever I play retail it’s for the raiding and dungeons. So

And a little

But I care more about raiding.

Definitely possible.

However can potentially be an especially repetitive grind. Playing AH is obviously the most obvious way, but can be difficult if you don’t have much to get started and/or aren’t familiar with the economy on your server. It also often requires spending a fair chunk of time sitting at the AH to repost and stuff like that.

Doing callings gets you a decent chunk of gold. Especially if you have alts to run them on as well. Mission table gold and WQ add up quickly as well. Though it’s nothing compared to WoD and Legion table gold farming. Old raids can also still net you some decent gold especially with alts.

However, you want to evaluate how much time you actually have to play. If you’re tight on play time and you’re spending it all on grind the gold for the token it kind of defeats the purpose.

Also consider how much fun/how burnt out you get from whatever method of gold farming you land on. If it’s fun and enjoyable for you then that’s obviously time well spent and you save $15 as well. However, even if you have plenty of time to play, if you’re getting emotionally drained or bored out of your mind from the gold grind then it’s probably better to spend the $15 which is 1 or 2 hours of work IRL to burning a ton of free time on a second “virtual” job.

Also it doesn’t have to be an all or nothing situation. You could pay every other month with a token and pay the $15 on the off months. Or a 2:1 ratio or whatever works for you. At the end of the day you just want to make sure you’re enjoy the majority of the time your playing cause if you’re not, why play at all?

Yes. I would even call it easy, but that means you’re logging in most days for the express purpose of gold making. The best way is to run the Auction House, or sell boosts/carries (though this requires significant advertising effort, as well as a division of payout; expect to be ignored frequently due to being spam).

I pay my WoW sub because I’d rather dedicate my time in-game to character building, rather than subscription upkeep. $15/mo isn’t a lot of money to me, especially when I contrast that to all of my friends and family that smoke cigarettes. lol

Hey man to each their own. I kind of like farming gold, but it never holds my attention for very long. I do a few other things like you say too, but it’s not my meat and potatoes.

Far more satisfied being closer to a raid logger.

I’d say unless it just comes naturally from you playing the game, spending gold on tokens isn’t worth it.

Think of it this way, you could then have 180k in gold to do whatever you want, to make your in game life easier.

I’ve been building up a gold nest egg, with the original intent of anything over a million gold would then just fund a toeken each month. Now that I’m there…I decided to just pay blizzard 15 a month and stay flush with cash. Rather that than just have my gold go poof. You’ll burn yourself out grinding for…what 5$ an hour essentially?

It’s like 15 bucks … 1 hour of a minimum paying job in a month. I am sure your time would be more rewarded than grinding for gold to pay the sub.

Make money playing normally but don’t spend, wait until tokens fall in price, buy a bunch of tokens.
