Is it still realistically possible to grind enough gold per month to get a WoW token? If so, could anyone please give me some advice?
I just got into the expansion and wanted to pay my game time in WoW tokens if possible, but is the grind so horrendous its just not worth it? I’m not a super hardcore player so I can’t get gold capped in a month like people selling raid carries. Old raid gold got nerfed into oblivion so that’s not really viable anymore
Not sure what to do. Am I best off quitting and waiting until next expansion when herb and ore prices are much better?
It’s possible. Though the only way I’d be interested in doing that is through playing the auction house. I have no interest in that type of gameplay and it seems to be the only reasonable method (i.e not a ton of grinding) of affording WoW tokens regularly. Though, I’ve not out a ton of research into this because I’m find just paying my sub. I wouldn’t take my opinion as gospel and others may have better information to give.
Not this late in an expansion. At the beginning of expansions, and major content patches, you can make pretty decent gold farming. You’ll always make more by playing the AH.
Just measure your GPH. Now figure out if it’s less time to just work to pay for the game. Usually, you’ll be better off just paying the 15.
100k is definitely on the upper end since there’s a decent amount of variance in calling boxes, but if you’ve got three characters doing callings and their mission tables, you’ll comfortably be making enough to buy a token with a solid amount of change left over.
Especially if you prioritize the missions which give augment runes, meat and fish.
You could probably get away with doing it on two, but that would be significantly tighter.
What you should ask yourself is if it’s worth it burning yourself out chasing 200k gold to cover a 15 dollar monthly bill for your subscription. If you ask me that’s not a wise time investment.
I mean unless you enjoy farming things in WoW for hours and hours to sell on the AH, you are always better off just buying the game time even at below minimum wage. I mean you’d have to make the 180k or whatever it is now in under 3 hours to make it “cheaper”
Uhh I guess but do you enjoy the farming? If so then it’s fine, I mean I don’t care how other people play. Personally for myself, I dislike farming herbs and ore, items to auction off etc so it’s closer to “work” than play. And I work at my job so I’d rather just spend the money I make at my actual job on game time rather than working in game to play the game.
The only point I was trying to make, was that if you are going to farm items to sell for gold to purchase game time, I hope you enjoy farming them because it’s going to take a lot longer than just earning the money to buy the game time would.
When the gold token price was 110k, you could easily just do world quests to make your 3-4k per day. Now with prices at around 180k-190k, you have to put in nearly double the effort.
And if you’re a tank, you can get the 900g satchels by running LFR when the satchel bonus is available (which is often).
