Real Tender For Trader's Tender: A Cash Shop Suggestion

Continuing the discussion from Looks Like the Mighty Caravan Brutosaur might Be Unobtainable In 9.0.1 (Part 1):

You mean this quote ya troll?

The thing is, the Trading Post is supposed to encourage people to log on and play the game. If people can just buy the tender, they won’t spend time collecting it.

Of course, the fact that Blizz DOES sometimes sell tender in bundles (this isn’t the first time they’ve offered tender along with a cash purchase) kind of negates that concept. I think there are two factions at HQ–one that wants to include tender on the shop and one that doesn’t. These occasional bonus bundles seem to be the compromise. Only time will tell if tender alone will be sold on the shop.

Yeah you should try actually reading that instead of just assuming it says whatever you want.

Not everyone will spend money. Some play solely for free on Tokens for gold. This will not stop anyone from getting their basic 1k and then adding more to it.

And yet they brought it back bigger and better.

Right. I already spend roughly 300-500 a month on mobile games. Massive missed business opportunity that Blizzard is just sleeping on for some reason.

Gonna triple down on pretending it says something else I see. Repair mount is always available for 20k. The two brutosaur are available for a limited time, price ranging from 1.2m up to gold cap.

But enough derailing. They brought it back. So they change their minds. They also changed their stances on:

  • Classic WoW:

One notable example of Blizzard changing their mind is their stance on “classic” versions of their games, particularly with World of Warcraft, where they initially resisted the idea of offering an older version of the game but eventually launched “World of Warcraft Classic” due to strong community demand and pressure from players who wanted to experience the older gameplay.

  • Microtransactions:

While initially more cautious about implementing microtransactions in their games, Blizzard has become more open to incorporating them in recent years, though often with attempts to balance the system to avoid player backlash.

  • Game design philosophy:

Some game updates or expansions have seen Blizzard adjust their design approach based on community feedback, potentially altering mechanics or features that were initially met with negativity.

  • Mobile gaming:

Blizzard initially seemed hesitant to fully embrace mobile gaming but later released successful mobile titles like Hearthstone and Diablo Immortal.

  • Esports support:

Blizzard has significantly increased their focus on esports for titles like Overwatch and Hearthstone, with more dedicated support for professional players and tournaments.

It very clearly says they don’t want to see AH mounts running around. If you read the thread that quote is from, the context also makes it very clear they were referring to the removal of the mount and why it was being removed. You’re the one pretending it says something else.

I can’t tell if you are trolling or genuinely incapable of reading at a first-grade level anymore. They didn’t change their minds, everything in the statement has continued.

It doesn’t. Much like the worgen, consider reading.

No thank you, I’d rather live in the world where I just don’t get everything than live in the world where trading post gets priced for whales.

All you’ve done is pick fights and insult since arriving. Just gonna flag this as inappropriate and move on.

I didn’t say it would stop anyone, just that it removes the incentive the Trading Post was supposedly developed to provide. But as we’ve seen, Blizz changes their minds all the time. (It’s almost as if it’s not a monolith, but actually a company with lots of different people making decisions.)

Right now, there is no incentive needed. All the regular stuff we log in to do just gives us tenders. Do 5 TW dungeons, hit some pet battles, kill a bunch of bosses, etc. Those of us who want it will get it, those who do not can simply ignore it and buy what they normally buy.

They should put Trader Tenders out in the world like Super Credits. Roll up to some crate, salute it and boom 10 tenders.

Exactly. They wanted to encourage more game play from folks who don’t log in regularly. It makes no difference to those of us who DO log in at least weekly. But, like I said, there seems to be at least two factions at Blizz regarding the cash sale of tender. It’s entirely possible they will eventually sell tender on the shop.

Imagine, adding Tenders to special chests and just having them appear at random places in the open world. OR, go one better and add Tenders to Archaeology so as you are scouting you find 10 here, 10 there.

Yet it’s been available from the Black Market Auction House since then?

I see value in the idea, even though I don’t like it as much as them just uncapping what we could earn every month.

Honestly, as it’s only for xmog, i would MUCH rather they do this than stuff that is actually p2w, like wow tokens. It’s too late, just do it.
