So, I’ve been out of WoW for over a decade, I dont understand position that seems common regarding Streamers.
How do they negatively impact your game? There is a clear bias against them around here and I dont understand why.

They didn’t at all until Blizzard decided to start answering questions through them so that to find answers you are forced to watch them or come here to read the answers from other people who watch them and report back here.

Everything thats been said on streams has been reported by Wowhead though really?
A few of them have extremely obnoxious followers, who have been known to descend on certain realms and make themselves unwelcome. That’s one thing.
Other than that, streamers in the general sense do not bother me. Just a couple of individual ones.

A lot of them don’t know what they’re talking about and when they say stuff, it gets repeated by enough people often enough that it’s taken as fact. They’re uninformed and they make their extremely rabid fanbase uninformed as a result.
Example: Esfand and other streamers vehemently declaring DRs weren’t in the game from Day 1.

For me it’s just particular ones. And it just so happens those particulars are the ones covering Classic.
It’s more particularly that they lack Vanilla experience and now I’m getting my Classic news from them at the same time “everything they didn’t remember” is just really what they thought it was like because of their authentic private servers.
When the release announcement was posted on this forum I was subsequently directed to streamers for information.

Dude…someone linked a video of Staysafe talking about the alpha and all I could think was Classicast was invited to Irvine so they could come back and let their audience know they were wrong.

Right now there is a round of people hating that streamers traditionally get first invites to betas.
As far as wanting to avoid servers with major streamers: It has a lot to do with toxic fanbases of some of them. More than it does the actual streamer.

I personally just hate them because they’re dumbing down young people. That’s really it.
Young people watch these idiots complain and scream and make stupid noises. Even playing the game would engage kiddos mind’s more than that mindless drivel.

Some people need someone to hate. Streamers have the privilege of early Alpha access, so people who are hateful hate them.

Lmao, there’s some truth to this, I reckon. The whole streaming thing doesn’t really contribute anything to culture or society. It’s like watching TV except without the capacity for artistic merit

Most are jealousy mainly.
I hate that they keep giving false information. They all have their own inside source which tells them a different time frame for information.
