yes ofc whales will buy years worth of consumes they dont need just to really stick it to the GDKP haters.
someone having a ton of gold they have nowhere to spend doesn’t really matter, one person can only use so many consumes/buy so many BOEs.
it becomes a problem when they have a means to quickly disseminate it amongst a bunch of other players (GDKP).
after which it will be injected into the economy at a much faster rate than it otherwise would have been, because all of them will be buying consumes and mats/boes, instead of just one of them having a ton of gold and no reason to spend it.
This is one of the worst trains of “logic” I’ve seen in my entire life. Good lord…
don’t think their take was nearly as dooms day as they say, but just from knowledge of how most people i know in gdkp function:
you will have less sweaty players out there grinding things to sell.
That means less people listing items on the AH causing prices to go down because we always undercut eachother with every listing so our stuff buys first.
This in turn means more scarcity of goods in the economy so natural AH prices will slowly rise making it harder for the average player to buy goods.

yea shocker, gdkp people arnet the biggest on farming generally.
as long as gdkp payouts dont make farming completely pointless because they are 5-10x better gph, farming will get along just fine because it will be competitive with other methods of making money in the game.
one of the the (myriad) problems with GDKPS is they are so much better gph than anything else because of all the RMT gold being pumped into the payout pools, it ends up making doing anything else for gold pointless unless youre botting.
Say it louder for the people in the back.
RMT doesn’t contribute anywhere near as much to these a you think. Its not as wide spread as you seem to want it to be.
Sorry where are you getting this info?
from educated guesses on the people seen in most gdkps he is probably right not everyone is an oil tycoon.
most of the people i’ve seen who were fat pocket buyers are the same people you see all day long spamming services like “let me stealth boss for X drop for $$” or “mage power leveling services X runs for $$” or they are the players you see with their names beside everything on the auction house and are that annoyance buyer that wants to buy everything that drops that they can relist on AH for a disgusting profit.
Typically the guys you can guess RMT are the ones that come into a run and want to buy literally everything that could touch their body be it a dps warrior wanting all bis tank at the same time type of thing. I would say over the last 4 years those types of buyers probably make up 0.00001% of the community and most of the GDKPs out there know them by name and kind of side line them because it is annoying to deal with.
Genuinely trying to understand this comment. Are you saying GDKPs reduce inflation? I don’t see how when gold is traded between players. Gold is not created or destroyed in this process.
Ok, so you are both guessing. Let’s acknowledge no one actually knows, and not tell other people it’s “way more” or “way less”. The quote I highlighted is saying “way less RMT happens” when in reality we have no idea.
Personally as a non gold buying GDKP
