So you agree that banning GDKP’s directly affected the price of illicit gold. Its a fact the P2W kiddos are conveniently ignoring.
I’m disheartened by the fact people have no idea how economy works and how having more gold in circulation is a bad thing.

It’s already heavily impacted the price of gold on RMT sites.

Combined with new methods of banning bots and gold buyers/sellers it will further reduce the demand for gold.

It makes goldbuyers/goldsellers cry incessantly on the forums, which I find delightful.

Why wouldn’t it? Even though I believe only a small percentage of players who GDKP actually buy gold it is still some percentage that maybe even Blizzard doesn’t know but if anybody does it is them and they aren’t talking. I don’t think Blizzards purpose in this move was to give everybody a great discount on gold at 3rd party sites going into phase 2.
You see people who RMT are still gonna RMT even if it isn’t for GDKPs. They will still buy their mount(s) and now they will buy overpriced items off the AH. Those that raid log will still buy gold so they have money for consumes so they don’t have to spend any time farming. etc…
What is going to happen with the price of gold in phase 2, now that I think about it some more is quite interesting. On one hand you have less demand for gold, which will lower prices, but on the other you have new tech which will combat gold sellers making the gold supply more scarce, which will raise prices. Then on the other hand you have new things people are gonna want to spend gold on, which will raise the demand of gold somewhat, raising prices. On the other hand I don’t give a Flying F about the price of gold since I don’t buy gold, so it is this last hand I will be taking.
It is however convenient that you failed to mention that I believe the major factor in the price change is the impending new tech, and impending ban wave.
Buying gold/botting = bad, as it puts more money in circulation
GDKP = not bad as it simply transfers existing gold, it does not create new gold into circulation.

Gonna be hilarious if blizzard ups their finding and punishment of gold buyers and has an easier time catching them thanks to them buying up loads of black lotus off the AH or something to that effect.
GDKP isn’t the only thing that is going away. Selling of any gear counts as GDKP which means all those selling SFK runs for the ring or WC runs for pieces of loot off the first boss are done.
They might even count dungeon boosting as a form of GDKP if any loot is given to the boosties.

Well Carries can still be sold because you are selling raid slots, not items. So that is good.
That will simply become the new GDKP replacement

I would personally be careful considering they are going to include banning for something that is being tested. I got my main account perma banned for botting because I was using a G14 game pad for all I know since I haven’t gotten this second account banned and I am not using the game pad but everything else is the same in terms of addons.
False positives will still lead to losing out on time played and I honestly just don’t want to risk it and I am sure there are many people out there that will think twice before trying to purposely skirt around what blizzard considers a problem.
GDKP = buying gold/botting.
This is like saying frick instead of the f word in school. You aren’t technically breaking the rules, yet you will still get punished as though you were.
The intention is still very much to continue GDKPing and will likely end up being punished. Though I wish you luck!
