Real Talk How Many WG/Isle Do We Have To Leave Before Devs Fix Them?

Just got WG again and left again bringing the number of WG/Isle’s left up to at least 100 for SL. Most of my team left only now to have it backfilled by players that will also leave. When are the Devs going to actually start fixing these things or add Blacklisting.

I would love for them to just remove WG/Isle because players massively hate Siege maps because of the lack of PvP in them and the Devs have no idea how to fix them. This is why Strands got the Axe!!

Now a solution to the problem. First Blacklisting!! Let me Blacklist WG/Isle. Let every player Blacklist 2 Epic and 2 Regular BGs. It’s a simple QoL feature that also gives the Devs feedback as well on BGs that the community hates. They then can ask the community “WHY” do you Blacklist these BGs? What changes would you like to see so you don’t Blacklist them?

I would call that progress and moving in a correct direction if we did the above but no matter what… SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE!!! It’s undeniable!! I don’t care if you gave me a 30 day Deserter debuff I am not staying in these BGs the way they are.

The Devs need to work together with the players to make a great game. Right now our pleas are just falling on deaf ears though as we wait. Please allow Blacklisting then use it to help improve our BGs and then give you Data and open up communication on what the player base would like from a NEW BG.

Thanks.

Became a bg in March 2019, almost 2 years ago now…

Hundreds and hundreds of complain posts/threads by players…

…still not fixed :joy:

Yea but think the tolerance of players is now zero. 2020 was difficult enough no reason to come in here and have lack of communication. Let the Deserter debuffs flow as we protest. Leave and leave again till they are fixed. No one wins.

I know you didn’t play epic bgs in BFA (by your own admission), but people’s tolerance was low even back then. Not much has changed as far as this particular bg goes.

Different year, same old one-sidededness/imbalance issues with this map.

The thing is I actually think Epic BGs have the most potential in SL especially with a high dmg Meta. When stuff is dying the large scale battles have more feeling to them and have enjoyed some good Ashrans and AV’s. Where you just win by killing enough players. You know good ole PvP.

It saddens me that some content is so neglected and left to rot especially when it could be such a big part of people’s play time. A lot of the features that are asked for could be added instantly that would vastly improve the entire communities QoL with things like Blacklisting.

Then we can take an approach to improve on what needs to be fixed.

I’d take SotA over WG right now; it was vehicle combat, but at least it had a healthy amount of actual PvP in it. As much as I’ve disliked IoC in the past I still prefer it to WG and modern Ashran. Back when blacklist were a thing a majority of players blacklisted AV/IoC back when they were the only 2 Epic BGs. Really goes to show how much people dislike the larger scale bgs.

Yea but I hate going out of my way to ignore objective and hide from Sieges just to find some PvP on the side. Rather they just remove them and have better PvP maps. I always Blacklisted Strand. Couldn’t stand it.

I think people like large scale battles just not the way Blizz keeps implementing them. Or the bad changes they add. Sieges should never be able to do more dmg to players then actual players. They are there to dmg structures. We are supposed to PvP over objectives not use objective to farm out a win cause they are broken.

I enjoy AV when there is actually huge fights and 100’s of HKs and tons of KBs it means PvP happened. I want PvP over objectives not ignore PvP to win fast in an NPC zerg. Again that isn’t PvP or what Epics should be. I would remove the final bosses in AV and make players PvP over towers to run out resources.

With that said Blacklisting allows control for the player. Maybe some days you get home from work and want to eliminate different maps. Or you Que with friends so now those maps aren’t so bad. It’s just a great QoL feature.

Example is I hate FC maps solo Que and would always Blacklist them. However if I got a few friends that Black list changes.

As of now though too much is broken and needed attention a long time ago. I don’t want to get 1 shot by a cannon from 1 mile away. That isn’t PvP. I want no part of that. I didn’t join a BG to get insta gibbed by something I can’t counter. Especially when it’s not another player it’s just infuriating.

So for now just got to go on strike of the Siege maps and leave over and over.

The other day I was dropped into WG on offense. I waited till it started to see how many would leave. There were only a handful. I left a moment after, since O always sucks obviously.

Plenty of people win.
People like me who queue up just to roam around killing people. The win part is that we won’t have to see potatoes like you who queue in, screech in instance chat, and then frantically bang out “/afk” on your keyboard.

Good luck with your deserter queues of 2021 :joy:

Yeah that will really do something :unamused:

I think the most glaring problem in epics BGs is Wintergrasp offense. It’s nearly impossible to win, the vehicles need to be buffed and canon damage nerfed.

I was thinking about compiling a decent sized collection of WG offense quality BG chat logs and posting them up on Twitter @WarcraftDevs :stuck_out_tongue:

There is no solution for Epic BG’s as long as honor rewards aren’t standardized to contribution and time instead of victories.

For random BG’s there’s simply no reason not to do this- people don’t take them seriously anyways and the only way to give any integrity to epic BG’s is to remove the incentive for people to game the system and try to end them as quickly as possible, even if it means losing.

I mean, IoC’s problem is that anything that doesn’t involve capturing docks and then beating down the walls and killing the leader is considered ‘too slow’ so the Horde typically loses because they’re bad and can’t capture the docks because of a slight bias in favor of the Alliance even though the idea is that they capture the workshop and use demo’s to push Alliance off the Docks. But that’s slow.

Wintergrasp also probably needs very few fixes- fixing hit boxes for ranged vehicle attacks, and then maybe a stacking vehicle damage buff for every tower assault has up, and every tower they take out from the defenders.

People have been mass deserting WG ever since it was re-implemented. Blizzard doesn’t care if you quit the battlegrounds. It doesn’t register as a protest to them. They see that people queued and a battleground popped, and they see that as PvP participation. Your desertion means nothing to them.

The answer is 3

oh no, WG is definitely broken atm, demo shots dont hit the walls unless you aim for the perfect 1 pixel spot. that combined with the burst meta makes attacking nearly a fail in most games even with a premade.

All we can do is keep AFKing out. Maybe they’ll fix it eventually, maybe.

It needs major fixes.

  • Base cannons should have a 50 yard range and not 1 mile
  • Siege/Cannon dmg to players reduced by 95% they should do 1-2k dmg
  • Multiple spawn spots to start the BG
  • Incentive to capture multiple bases for buffs and PvP over objectives
  • No rapid spawn of Sieges inside the base

Isle suffers the same problem of WG above.

  • Range of cannons
  • Airship shouldn’t dmg players

Lets PvP over objectives and NOT have it be about a boss kill.

  • I would remove the bosses from all maps and make it about capturing towers, bases and resources. Which every BG i would double the resources!!

These BGs should have 100’s of HKs in them and people getting 40-60 KBs.

No Epic BG should end in under 25 mins. Ideal time should be 25-45 mins a BG and then they will have Epic PvP in them. Some games it should be possible to go over an hour.

Honestly 45 minutes for an epic bg would be too much. Personally 30 minutes should be the limit.
I would like it if the glaives had their range reduced. So the defenders can actually hit them with the cannons. As it is now, 40 people stack on top of the glaives and protect them and wait for them to take down the wall outside of range of harm. Really stupid.

It’s really not though especially when you are having an Epic battle farming HK’s and getting tons of KBs which is Epic. Players interesed in short BGs can stick to regular BGs that end in 10-15 mins. Players that want to really fight some intense battles and get a lot of kills, do Epics.

One of the major measurements of the quality of PvP is HK’s and KBs that are in them. Currently there aren’t anywhere close to enough happening which is why most of these BGs don’t have PvP in them. Specifically the Siege maps and AV when it’s a boss zerg.

If AV ends and top player has 6 KBs then everyone lost. There wasn’t any PvP. Remove the bosses have us PvP over towers and resources (double resources in every Epic) and get 40, 50 and 60 KBs.

Right I would remove the boss and double the resources to win, wall goes down BG isn’t over you have to PvP in the fort and perhaps gain a buff that now you can use against your enemy for the remaining time.

Lets make it about PvP over objectives/resources instead of ignoring PvP and doing objectives that remove the PvP.
