Re: the 70 boost and TBC flying

Just to be sure before a friend does this:

If you use a level 70 boost, and all the quests are completed for you, what would you have left to do to unlock TBC flying in DF? The exploration of Dragon Isles, or just the exploration of the Emerald Dream?

If anyone knows the answer, I’d appreciate it. Thanks!

Flying in Burning Crusade content is still purchased in your faction’s hub in Hellfire Peninsula, I believe.

That’s just a level requirement, no questing to unlock.

I mean traditional flying in the Dragon Isles. Ion called it TBC flying, so I thought everyone would know what that meant. Sorry!

Ahh, okay. Pathfinder.

The boost unlocks the following in Dragonflight:

  • Dragon Isles Adventure Mode
  • Guardians of the Dream campaign available to start
  • Dragon Isles map and all flight points
  • Access to Zaralek Caverns
  • Four basic Dragonriding mounts and the Winding Slitherdrake
  • 20 Renown Levels for the four initial Major Factions, and 12 Renown Levels for Niffen
  • Main Major Factions’ features, like Travel Network Waygates, Dragonscale Expedition talents, and Tuskarr Fishing Gear
  • 5000 Dragon Isles Supplies

So it sounds like they’d just have to go do the Zaralek campaign (not sure on this if the Slitherdrake is already included) and unfog the Zaralek and Emerald Dream maps then should be good to go.

Yeah, since the Slitherdrake is included, you’d think that the ZK storyline would be done as well, and the only quests left undone would be the ones in the Emerald Dream. That’s basically what I’m trying to determine.

It really seems like there would be nothing to do to unlock flying but the exploration bits.

I don’t have an answer for ya, but the Slitherdrake wasn’t the end of the Zaralek Caverns quest line. If it unlocks to that point you’ve got some left to do.

Would be odd for it to do like half and not all of the quests but there’s been odder things happen hah.

True! I’d forgotten that it wasn’t given out at the end.

Yes. There’s still several quests leading into the Aberrus raid, plus a small final quest chain purportedly after rhe player finishes the raid (but the raid itself is optional).

I do remember that now, but it still doesn’t really answer my question. Thanks though!

I purchased a bundle with a boost. I haven’t done Dragonflight yet (busy in Korrak’s), and I haven’t used the boost. How would I learn how to use dragonriding (which I expect to have a learning curve for me) if all the quests are gone? How do I even get the dragon mount? The cheapest bundle I bought didn’t come with a mount.

The quests are not gone. You can simply go to the Waking Shore and start the campaign from the original landing spot for your faction. Make sure you have low level quest tracking turned on just in case to see the quests.

What we are being told is that all quests are completed and gone. I don’t really want to have to repeat them all in order to get to the dragonriding quests.

I remember your question at the end of this thread (that was closed and unlisted by the mods for some reason):

I have no idea what the answer is to your question now, but you do have all of the mounts already, at least according to the Blizzard Support page on the boost:

Are the mounts not showing up in your Mounts menu? They should be automatically sorted to the top of the list. If they don’t appear, you might want to check the filters, and if still no luck, put in a ticket.

I haven’t used my boost yet, and neither has my friend since I couldn’t ever get a firm answer to my original question in this thread, so I’m sorry I can’t be of more help.

They aren’t. They are still there, and I have done them on a fresh character boosted to 70.

I got the cheapest version, which didn’t come with mounts. I haven’t used the boost yet, because I’m busy in Korrak’s and haven’t decided which character to use it on.

All the versions come with the Enhanced Level 70 boost which includes the original dragonriding mounts, plus the slitherdrake that comes from Zaralek Cavern. The version you bought didn’t come with the Algarian Stormrider mount, but the level 70 boost comes with the other mounts. They will be in your mount menu after you use the boost.

Use the boost on a toon and that will get the mounts etc

Hey! Ya no idea why my post was locked and hidden, but I did get it resolved. I spoke to a gm, and sure enough, he said the token WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO DO COMPLETE THE QUESTS. It was a bug. He reset my UI and the quests reappeared. All of them. You cant see them on the map at max level when they are considered “trivial” you can see them on the minimap on and screen normally.

Hope that helps

Hey there! Glad you got it sorted out.

Question for you: What did you have to do after the boost to unlock traditional flight, if you have done that? Was it just the exploration bits left to do?

That’s the part I still can’t figure out an answer to!

You still have to unlock it via questing. I havent gotten there. Honestly Im looking forwards to it. Dragonflying is fun, but only after you get all the talents. Until then its a pain in the rumpass
