HC was pretty fun until I got my first disconnect death on a level 31 priest. I felt dying was a fair and exciting danger but not some server issue out of my control.
Classic (and Cata) is fun. Cata seems to be more fun 2nd go around than original.
Retail is a big giant mess. They should rename it the World of Beta Craft, The Bugs Within.
If 99% of a game is super easy but it has one secret boss that one shots you with 0 telegraph while youre at max defensives would you consider that game hard?
No. Its an easy game made for babies with a lazy âchallengingâ bonus fight at the end.
Been playing for 18 years, thr only consistent is people complaining. Every expac has had issues. People just want the back in my day it was great⊠actually the game wasnt the only thing you miss. Its likely the guild or fellow travelers you met along the way. You cant always go home but you can enjoy it just a tad. The poor me this game is a poor attitude is worn out. Maybe its less the game and ones overall experience. Im old games havent been great since dropping quarters into asteroids at the roller rink. But i still love playing. Maybe not as strong and dont really raid butmy main and alts live on until they shut the servers off
IMO you are just looking back into nostalgia and dont want to accept that retail is NOT classic, not even the 2019 version of retail had something in common to classic relaunch in the grand scheme.
Youâre just being pesimistic, looking at the glass half empty and complain that 2024 retail is not classic, well obviously it is NOT.
OR join a guild and do content with them, that is all what it takes.
Ok but wow isnât meant to be a story centric, RPG game, it never was, maybe upon its initial inception but by half way through the focus shifted to endgame content, itâs been centered around that endgame feedback loop since before TBC was released. The leveling and story are secondary to that. The game has been this way for near 20 years it wonât change upon your whim.
Levelling is literally waiting in a queue until you can finally enter the actual game. A chore to get out of the way so you can play the main content which is p much everything else thatâs not levelling.
Thereâs also some story I guess.
Retail or âmodernâ wowâŠ: whatever you wanna call it, has gone to great lengths to cater to the âcasualâ gamer, who only has a few hours a week or so to play. Along with that, the game feels much different than the original we remember
