You must be new to MMOs. Its ok. No MMO in the world would rely only on leveling to survive, and be under the assumption everyone would quit after they hit max level.
Single player RPGs are basically like that. You level up. You hit max/finish the story. You are done.
I am sorry that WoW has never been what you want in a game. Classic certainly was not this. But I am thankful that WoW’s business plan has not been for people to unsub and quit after hitting max level.

Normal gamers get bored with a game as soon as the game stops throwing new environemnts at them.

It definitely had a huge post leveling game atmosphere.

If you were there for TBCC and WotLKC you’d maybe get as much of a culture shock as the other oldheads when they saw that “their” game is now played differently so it’s for the best.
Seen more people complain about retail difficulty with than classic.
You have to be a rock to think classic in any form is more mechanically difficult than retail.
Maybe stop playing on qued content then.
Mplus alone has priority mobs that if aren’t kicked/stunned they one shot players.
When all you do is braindead content like classic it’s all the same as qued content.
Nothing in classic is hard.

Leveling in classic takes a ton more time than in retail but that doesn’t make it difficult.
