Re-evaluate group loot in pugged raids

Why is it that players are permitted to grief other players by rolling need on items that are clearly not upgrades for them (from an item level, sim, quality etc pov) in raid?

Two reasons:

1. They put in the work to help kill the boss
2. Stats are temporary, but transmog is forever

You can add gold to that. Selling items in raid has been really beneficial

Entirely not true. I just lost an upgrade to someone who had the same shoulders but tier and high ilvl. They had no use for it but would have been huge upgrade for me.

If the shoulders looked the same but were also not the same on a functional level (one being tier, the other being a non-tier) then yeah, they could roll on another set of shoulders even though they looked the same. In order for someone to be unable to roll on an item that has a lower item level, they need to be the same item entirely.

So OP’s mad about people rolling need on gear he thinks they don’t need in a pug, so he wants them to always roll need on everything, and get rid of the system that might prevent them from doing what he’s complaining about them doing?
