Agreed, It just sucks that that there currently is no longer an as effective in-game function to recruit for that high level content outside LFG/ Trade chat spamming. The former LFG system was great for scanning through raids and dungeons. The current pre-made group function is buggy and really clunky. Blizzard should have left that function in game as well as adding RDF for those that did want to participate in higher level content.
Beta’s were fun and not hard to find groups for. Gamma’s on the other hand have been horrible. If you aren’t finding a premade group you are lucky if any of the other players even know there is an npc that provides a buff. It was hard enough to get everyone to click on the damn orbs and now you have to spent 10 minutes explaining to the people who either can’t or won’t read chat that you need to talk to an npc to get a buff.
I’ve only run about two dozen gammas and mainly solo que’d, but I’ve already had my fill of this mess xD. I ran over 500 beta’s between all my alts and enjoyed that, but these gammas are horribly tuned for the gear range they allow and nothing teaches all of these returning players that they need to interact with an npc.
Also the healing buff is a joke. People in average groups are dealing with mechanics so poorly that I find it hard to stop healing on my 5600 gs d priest and on my 4600 that I wanted to gear up through RDF it’s a struggle not to go oom. So giving a buff for dpsing as a healer is just silly. The 5 different healing specs are not balanced, nor have the utility for dpsing consistently.
Lost the ability to list myself while a raid leader fills a raid they created. Huge time waster when i can just put my name up like before and do something else while the leaders lead (fill the group like they should be doing).
i can only do gun and hos at 78. i lost like 5 dungeons from the original lfg. so what’s at 79 lmao.
Truly a blessing, the game is now actually truly enjoyable for me, I’ve been leveling few alts and trying class I would never try without RDF since they are a pain to level up solo such as healers.
I’m leveling arms warrior, Afli warlock and holy pala right now and will do a fire mage after since they are fun to level in dungeons.
Queues pop every 5 mins for dungeon level 15-30 so far no issues no bugs beside sometime I do not get rewards bag at the end and that is as solo DPS around the same as solo heal.
Its going fine, other than the sheer lack of willing healers queuing up or dropping group immediately for various reasons spoken or unspoken.
you didnt lose anything, the dungeons didnt magically vanish once the LFG tool came into being. just need to walk to the door the old fashioned way that was the norm like 2 days ago.
I will not do OK or Azjol, so I’ll drop from those lol.
They were a daily thing in Wrath as well.
Was bare min ilvl 210 on my paladin for Gamma with a guildie who was in full Heroic ToGC gear on Azjol’Nerub. 0 Issues until Anubarak which seems to be a buggy mess, we keep wiping because the tank will get webbed and boss will pound everyone else etc.
4 wipes later the other 3 players have had enough, my guildie stayed (i dont blame them), and they wiped 10 more times with the replacement also being over 5.5k GS (as everyone else was) and my guildie left.
Suffice to say my low ilvl/GS was not the issue. My point is, please fix the spider dungeons.
Ran all 3 ICC dungeons and 3 Gammas on my Warrior that barely met the gear requirements. All 6 dungeons went relatively smooth with just a few minor deaths in Old Kingdom Gamma and no wipes, and the queue as dps never hit the 10 minute mark on any of them
Now, I’m not calling the people claiming to have had garbage experiences liars…but I am saying y’all need to stop letting one or two runs ruin the entire thing for you
Blasted out about 6 or 7 gammas on my ele main with 3 guildies yesterday and picked up a healer in RDF. We’re all togc geared and it was like running normal leveling dungeons. About 1.5hrs to grind out 23 essences, was a fun time.
Solo qued on my resto druid into a group that i couldnt communicate with, they had killed crystallus in HoS, had brann event, maiden and last boss to go, finished up about 25 minutes later with none of them being able to do over 10k dps.
Solo qued a couple of runs on my prot pal, OK and DTK, naturally i was top dmg on trash, on bosses i was close to the 2nd and 3rd dps on dmg. Had a decent UH DK in old kingdom and a decent mage in DTK. Those 2 runs took a little over an hour.
So far my experience has been language barriers, people seemingly not having an interrupt on their bars, fire mages using blizzard on 3 targets and nothing else. Shamans not dropping any utility totems.
Holy paladins not using holy light, just generally “bad” gameplay from most folks like i guess you should expect.
Ive seen a few folks in ungemmed, unenchanted pvp gear and boes from the AH that arent even for their class. Just so they can get into gammas and hope to get carried by others. People cba to do the absolute bare minimum and put some rare gems and cheap enchants on their gear and atleast look like theyre trying to benefit the group in any way.
RDF is such a great concept until you realize alot of others dont play the game the same way you do. Premades are they way to go, even if its just a premade through LFG, atleast then you can set some expectations and ensure youre able to communicate with party members.
So far so good. 3 min queue for my healer and 15-20 for dps. Refreshingly quick queue for my dps compared to the old system.
wow… that’s nothing like my experience… did 20 randoms last night and had only one group that was the way you described (dps standing in glaciate when told to move).
What you describe sounds like bots or griefers.
Every once in a while I run into some bads, but this is just kinda how life goes?
My EU prot paladin is 4.9k. Queued for random gamma, got HoS with teammates that were all over 5k. Cleared it without issue, ended up killing adds on the gauntlet fight so fast that we lost the buff multiple times.
Queued for FoS, got a 3.5k mage, 5k healer, and a few 4k dps, no wipes and the mage, priest, and I chatted a bit in party chat. We ended up deciding to do all 3 dungeons. There were a few deaths, but no wipes.
Overall, it was nicer to have the system find new members when people dropped off than have to manually invite and summon them, and it was no less social than the average pre-rdf group. Plus on my DPS alts I’ll do my fishing and cooking dailies while in queue, without having to worry if someone is running to the stone to summon, so that’s another plus.
Yea I totally called it. I knew you all would begin to complain about it as soon as you got it.
Don’t worry, you’ll be S tier in Cata…unless they mess the class balance up again.
Feral Wrath be good, dont be caster. Or can heal.
so you spent half the time waiting and the other half playing? excellent ratio.
if it takes you 10 minutes to say “talk to npc for buff” you’re doing something wrong yourself
I think you replied to the wrong person, buddy. My first post was pointing out what seemed to be a bug at the time that seems to have been fixed since then. All the rest of my updates in this thread have been mostly positive
Your desperation for validation is showing
