As a Tank, queues are non existent for me
Nice to finally not be gatekept. Went from 4400 to 5200 on my druid in 2 days. Running gammas on my 4100 ret and out dpsing people in the 5000s, can finally catch up and play the game.
No its not.
dungeons arent that hard or important for group comp to matter.
thats a you problem, not the systems problem. Why are you just sitting around doing absolutely nothing? Its not like the system forces you into doing nothing, so no you cant blame the system for your actions.
And guess what, you can still form your own group. Nothing stopping you.
You arent just saying opinions, you are trying to state RDF forces people to wait in Dal. You made a claim, and that claim is wrong.
That word does not mean what you think it means.
Nobody is “gatekeeping” you. It’s literally not possible. Nobody can stop you from making your own group and running a dungeon. You ALWAYS have the ability to make your own group.
I think one of the things that makes this seem more common than it may actually be is the increased rate at which dungeons can be consumed and the increased player pool from being cross server.
Now instead of running one or two dungeons with on server people, more than likely a group you run with semi-regularly, players have more exposure to potential bad actors. I personally do not think this behavior has increased in any remarkable way but player exposure to it certainly has or at least will as time goes on.
indeed it is as wrong for RDF as it was for group finder
How is this any different than “just list yourself/your group and wait”? Why would you sit in a city with RDF but not LFG? I don’t understand. Especially when RDF ports you to the dungeon and back out where you left. So if you’re doing a daily or fishing, you’re right back at it.
That’s certainly a personal preference and you’re free to disregard RDF entirely if you choose. No one’s going to fault you for playing how you like.
RDF bein gin the game does not prevent you from manually forming groups, you like putting the effort into manually forming, well enjoy nothing is stopping you in fact it should be even more rewarding for you since it takes more effort!! win win.
Not everyone who dislikes RDF is a purist. some people get salty about catch up mechanics.

I don’t disagree with you there. I don’t think people have started acting more toxic than they were before RDF.
In the LFG system, the leader could easily boot a toxic player and attempt to replace them. If the toxic person was the leader, you had to choose to stick with it or leave and sacrifice your daily lockout. Now we can just spam away and I do believe that does at least slightly promote more toxic behavior due to no risk of losing your lockout.

I think it can be viewed as something that could embolden people who already have a history of doing similar things outside of RDF for sure, the kind who usually don’t leave on their own over perceived slights/their own attitude, but want to be loud and obnoxious instead till removed.
It may increase exposure to bad actors but I think/hope after the initial RDF boom settles that things go back to either entirely silent and smooth runs or the ones with enjoyable banter.

Yeah, me too.
Go back to Vanilla then. Catch up mechanics are part of Wrath.

RDF isn’t a catchup mechanic?
I think RDF is still a bit buggy. Yesterday queues were popping for me in less than 3 minutes as a healer, but today I sat in the queue for a 1/2 hour before it showed 1 dps and then over an hour later when they had left, I gave up too. You can’t tell me that out of all the realms, only 1 dps was looking for a random normal dungeon. I’m a fresh 80 so I can’t quite do heroics, but my queue included upper dungeons and TOC normal and FOS normal. I’m sure things will eventually get better, but I’m pretty sure I wasn’t the only healer with 1 dps looking for a normal random. Other than the odd speedbump, I’m still having fun with it!
Its been amazing. 10/10. Definitely worth the wait. Thank you Blizz.
You can’t que them specifically. Random is random.
I don’t think anywhere I disagreed. I never said it happens frequently. But these are things you face lol.
No that is true. Most people aren’t doing normal 80 dungeons. Idk what you are expecting.

Average wait time started at 2 minutes, went down to 1, but as this repeated pausing thing has been going on it’s climbed up to 5…and my current queue is sitting at about 17 minutes
Seems like tanks are the bottleneck
