Tank shortage and healer shortage was the same problem a month into the release. The novelty of a new feature wore off as toxicity rose through the roof, few people understood how the oculus mechanics worked and never bothered to try even asking just quitting 2 seconds in causing a feedback loop. Same thing with halls of reflection, few people knew that the only strat was sitting in a corner and line of sighting the waves. Add in a language barrier and this instance was a nightmare. Saronite pits was the only instance people actually stayed for as the gear dropped was worth it. However the gear was equivalent to SSC/TK invalidating argent tourney and previous tiers like ulduar. I wanted to keep raiding ulduar but nobody wanted to run it as saronite pits offered better gear in blues.
I played 100% of Wrath and I and my guildmates recall RDF being a great addition as it saved us a ton of time forming groups in chat. Cata didn’t go south because of RDF. Cata went bad because it had horrible rewards for dungeons that took 4x as long to finish.
We obviously had very different experiences in Wrath though.

I’m personally pro RDF, but this is and always will be a terrible argument. If the majority of people are using RDF, then it virtually forces everybody to use it.
