I’ve been kicked twice for two different reasons across characters before pulling the first boss that were out of my control. This is isn’t the same as dodging, so I don’t see how me trying in an rdf and getting kicked results in me getting a 30 min cd
Blizzard removes the debuff
30 minutes later: Blizz why are tanks able to just afk at the entrance of dungeons they don’t like and force the group to kick them, then sit around waiting for a new one just for them to do the same thing?
being afk is one thing, which the game can already check for. also people can queue for dungeons they want to run, all it takes is not selecting the ones you dont want.
So someone has a small emergency come up and has to step away just for a couple of minutes. They deserve to be removed and hit with a 30 minute debuff?
by that logic, people can form groups of like-minded people to run the dungeon with, then no one has to worry about any kicks at all
Exactly both good points which I’m trying to argue but am not communicating well. People shouldn’t get hit with a 30 minute debuff because they have to step away for a moment. It happens pretty occasionally and people usually explain why they are stepping away. Its not a problem imo enough to warrant a 30 min debuff
Make it a bannable offense to dodge dungeon simple, give those people a well worth vacation, you see a tank doing it? Report them get them a week long vacation simple.
Or give a 15 mins cooldown until you can kick anybody at the start of a dungeon.
feels like you’re posting from an alt because you get kicked regularly and for good reason, and you don’t want anyone to out you for it.
So how does the system differentiate between that and someone who has a legitimate reason to go afk?
Nope, Im trying to have an actual constructive conversation about the cd punishing people for circumstances out of their control / not griefing, unless you want to argue any reasons you think warrant being kicked other than not being able to do mechanics. My alt and os are properly geared to gammas and I have done plenty of rdf with low gs alts and mains getting into p4, it should be chill and nbd
CD punishes people who have done something worthy of being kicked.
Never saw this happen. Ever. But if a tank wants to be kicked, kick them. Big deal, you’re returned to the front of the queue.
And then the tank goes onto the next group. And then the next group, then the next group, then the next group, oh and they’re not the only one doing it either…
he’s not saying that is what happens he’s saying that’s what will happen if CD is removed
This never happened in original Wrath and people saying it did are liars.
You can’t kick in the first 15 minutes anyway.
And there’s still a 15 minute dungeon lockout (not the same as dungeon deserter) once you join a rdf group.
The point is players couldn’t hold a group hostage. There was no reason not to simply just bang out the Heroic.
The problem of toxicity and gatekeeping comes as a direct effect of the clueless Classic team adding Mythics to Wrath, which encourage this kind of behavior. Then they change it so players who get kicked get the debuff, which didn’t happen in original Wrath.
Every decision they’ve made has made dungeons less accessible and more toxic.
That didn’t happen, and wouldn’t happen with the original RDF.
Why should someone get kicked for not being able to do mechanics? How are they supposed to learn if they can’t practice?
It absolutely did
It absolutely didn’t. Here…feel free to familiarize yourself with how RDF worked in original Wrath.

it’s why the CD was put in place to begin with. it happened during Wrath for HoR and Occ mostly, but then in Cata when the dungeons were actually hard it ramped up to the extreme where a tank or healer would just sit afk and demand to be kicked. they had varying reasons for demanding to be kicked, they didn’t like the dungeon, they didn’t need gear from it, no mount chance, a “bad” comp etc, but it most definitely happened.
That’s interesting though, even getting kicked didn’t remove the 15min cooldown. So even if they remove the deserter debuff from being vote kicked, people still need to wait.
