Almost everyone in our guild has had really awful experiences in RDF much too often. This is not about woefully under geared players which happens, but can be handled with some patience. It’s not about players (likely retail players where classes play entirely different) who admit, they have never played a class before. This is about incredibly obnoxious players being nasty to other players. It’s about players purposely running ahead, pulling multiple mobs and leaving the instance. There are other examples, but you get the idea. We very much need a way to Ignore or limit RDF to not connect us with known problem players. Being able to limit which servers to connect us with would be better, but even an individual player Ignore function would work.
Gonna be honest, the odds of running into the same problem player more than once is astronomically low
Was going to echo this. I’ve been playing WoW (as probably tons of us have) more or less since beta, with some breaks here and there). I’ve used RDF A LOT, and have had the occasional issue with for example being kicked from Gun’Drak for not wanting to do the skip, or whatever other reason where I might feel that the other player or players were wrong and I was right, but the vast majority of my experiences with people in general in WoW, and with those in RDF (and I am not a proponent of RDF mind you), have been positive.
If they’re on your ignore list, RDF won’t group you with them. At least it didn’t in original Wrath. Who knows how it is in this butchered version.
That’s bad luck… RNG sorta bad luck.
I haven’t been grouped in RDF with another previous player… ever. At least to my knowledge, anyway… I usually don’t remember them if they were good.
If they were bad… I do… and I haven’t seen them again when I queue up.
And this notion that there is zero social interaction is BS. Atiesh players (I’m Atiesh) always whisper me how bad bene/pagle players are… lol… it’s a bonding experience to trash other servers. That’s way more interaction than I ever got with the old system.
Putting players on ignore already prevents you from being grouped with them.
It’s happened multiple times, that we have gotten the same player on different RDF runs. More frequently if we queue up again shortly after, but it has also happened days apart. We generally only see grouping from 3 other servers besides our own.
You should play the lottery with that sort of luck, then
Or…don’t, I guess, cuz bad luck
Put them on Ignore. RDF doesn’t group you with players on your Ignore list. If it does, it’s a bug. Report it and Blizz will get it to it by the time we hit Shadowlands Classic.
So you’re saying there’s a chance?
While it is not common to routinely see the same people it becomes more likely if you queue at the same times every day, especially if those times are during non peak hours. Again to be clear I am not saying that would make it a common occurrence just saying it is not as incredibly rare as some are making it sound.
One example is I have randomly ran into players from my server that I knew but it was early morning on a week day both times and we chatted and found out we both always did our dailies a few hours before reset. I only recognized him because I have pugged raids with him in the past and the RDF experiences were only a few days apart.
What I most commonly see are people dumping, at the start, in the middle of clearing, or even before the final boss. It’s usually after a death but often with no deaths what so ever. They just drop when they feel like it with no regard for anyone else. This is annoying when it’s a tank you now have to wait a while to replace. That usually means the run is over, may as well requeue than try to fill that.
It’s fortunate the daily quests are on ANY dungeon, so getting locked to 1 you can’t finish doesn’t really hurt you like it did in prior phases. You can also specific queue any of the 3 new ones so you don’t have to deal with stupid mirrors or webs. I’ve grown to hate all of those dungeons, although I always try a run first, not just dump on the spot like other people.
I have not seen any of this going on nor has my guild. I think that if everyone in your guild is seeing this behavior often is it really everyone else creating this bad environment or you and your guild creating this environment- Just a thought.
Make your own group;
queue for RDF;
All problems are solved
even before RDF at max level i barely ran into the same person more than once when joining groups manually, now that you’ve opened up other realms to group with the chance of me seeing the same person again has just plummeted
