As a tank I can’t need on a strength/stam ring that has expertise/crit when its my BIS?? If there’s a str DPS their roll goes thru and mine doesn’t.
This system is nice in theory but you wonder why no one wants to tank randoms???

They are not dumb. They are there to protect others from Ninja looters.
If you are playing tank with a Loot Spec set to tank, you’re protected from others taking items away from you.
You make a choice - Do you want to roll as tank or dps.
If you want to roll other spec, you need to right-click your icon and set Loot Specialization to DPS or whatever other spec you want.
One new loot roll that needs to be added is on BOEs - if you roll NEED on a BOE than it becomes soulbound. If you roll greed, then its equal chance for everyone to win it so it stays BoE.

Apparently Blizzard disagrees that it’s a tank item. 
I haven’t wondered this, and I don’t even think it’s true.
(But yes, the loot system is meh)
its a bis item for TANK and DPS. expertise is #1 secondary stat for prot warriors

You are fighting an unwinnable battle here bud.
Items in MoP are clearly differentiated between tank and dps items.
Just because WoWhead says a DPS item is BIS for tank, doesn’t actually amount to anything.
I already told you the solution to that problem. Be glad this system is in place, otherwise you would have been here days ago crying how dps steal your tank items.
