Are you claiming that people that never played wow came to play wow because they put a random dungeon finder into a game they never heard about? Because that’s not what caused the spike… it was advertisement and they put the RDF as a catchup mechanic for all the super casual tourists they advertised on new social media platforms to. Those tourists were never going to survive Cata. They didnt even have the basic gameplay down, how would they possibly make it past those floating orbs of death?
Wow died because Legion ruined everything and it hasnt been the same since. Cata was great. MoP was good. WoD is overrated and at least its not Legion. Legion is when i officially threw the towel in.
You’re acting like you know all 20,000+ players on your server to create tight knit community.
You don’t. I bet you don’t know more 10 people outside of your guild.
And I mean like, actually know them and not just added some pogger warlock to friend list to have him carry you ever since.
There are 2 types in the world.
The ones that play in small groups, aka guilds or discord communities.
And liars.
AND…why aren;'t you complaining about cross realm PvP then?
Cross realm BGs?
Ability to get Glad 2.1 rank in 2’s by only talking with 1 other person. And yet it’s unacceptable to run Scarlet Monastery cross realm.
HOR was pretty bad the first few weeks, but eventually everyone learned that strat where the whole group stacked in the corner and it became a breeze. The Oculus was always a group killer, but I never understood why. It was one of the simplest, fastest dungeons once you knew it.
There are so many who claim WOW died, but retail is still making the company loads of money. Arguing about why the overall popularity of an 18 year old game is declining when every single one of us already knows that multiple experiences of the same or similar events reduce our enjoyment of them seems a bit… redundant. I think we all know that the popularity is declining because the experience is becoming old and boring for many of us, not because of any optional systems introduced.
As determined by number of raid logs as it gets easier and easier as more time has passed for players to have more and more level capped characters as alts and more easily get them into raiding?
You must not have seen the same population charts I have. Subs plateaued in WotLK and then has been a downward trend ever since, with a few spikes at expansion launches. At most you could say there was a 4% growth (11.5M to 12M) in Q3 2010 leading into Cata’s launch in Q4, but by Q1 2011, the numbers were already below where it was during most of WotLK.
