RDF - DPS Queue

What do you think the dps queue times will get too on release next week? 40mins +? That would suck.

If that’s the case, could blizz implement a fix or nah?

How would you fix the queue?

Tank and you’ll be part of the solution.

By randomly making a tank class thats queued as dps zone in the chunkiest custom tank gear and replace all their abilties with an ability called tank. Its an aoe taunt with no CD or cost that cant be resisted. Easy fix.

Yeap I’m prot and will be tanking, but fury off spec id like to play aswell

For levels 15-40 I think you can tank as an offspec ending with ulda/sm/rfd. Given we have inflation should be able to on dps main chars buy a tank spec and just use pvp gear to tank generally.

I’m not sure if you understand what a queue is

On wotlk back in the day it stabilized around 15-20 mins. Sometimes going up to 25 during lower times. If you can tank or heal, then you definitely should not only to get into dungeons and form groups faster.

That is a terrible solution… Why not just asked to have a button you press that says “press and collect loot”?

But in original Wrath, the queues didn’t have Mythics thrown into the mix. More versions = longer queues.

Its pretty much what tanking is currently minus the temporary tank set.

blizz already implemented a fix, it’s called the “role in demand reward bag” when someone queues as a roll in demand (usually tanks, sometimes heals) they are given a reward bag that gives gold and a chance at a mount. unfortunately i didn’t do PTR so idk if this also stacks with the current goodie bag you get from healing/tanking a dungeon

Instant. Just queue as a tank.

Oh, you specifically asked about DPS queue times. IDK, they’re about what? 10-15 mins in Retail, that has scaling and cross-faction queues, so yeah maybe like 40+ mins…

:woman_shrugging:

Personally? I’d just remove automated Dungeon Finder.

Not wrong, but I imagine there will be dead queues bc we have too many options. Either gonna be normal, heroic, or gamma people only run. I don’t imagine people actually go through the gear treadmill of alpha and beta now that there is so much crafted gear/boes on the AH. Not to mention the people who undermine the pve treadmill by farming out honor gear for an elevated ilvl/gs.

Is this in for this patch tho? The Call To Arms bonus wasn’t added until Cata patch 4.1.0.

I didn’t do the PTR so I honestly don’t know. Does anyone know for sure one way or the other?

this will depend on whether you can actually get a high enough ilvl strictly on BoEs depending on what they put the Gamma restriction at, but yeah those off pieces can easily be compensated by honor gear.

honestly idk, i forgot it wasn’t a thing until Cata so it probably isn’t in yet. i was mostly just saying that this was already an issue that blizzard “fixed” at some point, they should put it in if it wasn’t in PTR though as that would at least help out some

If it’s cross-server it’ll probably be much faster for DPS to get into a dungeon at any level compared to how long it takes currently with a server-locked rudimentary LFG system that doesn’t seem very popular.

I just started playing and was in it for over an hour once and forgot I was even in it when I finally got invited to something. That was with listing myself as healer or DPS.

Travel time I think is also a huge discouraging factor for some people to bother with leveling dungeons over just staying where you are questing. There should be a lot more people queuing for RDF than queue for the existing system.

It could end up taking 40 min idk I guess it depends on how many are returning to play. Sometimes it’s hard to speculate, as there were times when I was convinced the dungeon queue would take forever, and then it’s popping in five. Still better to know you’re in the waiting list than the uncertainty of never getting in.

i think at level 15 to 30 ,dps queue times will be less than 5 minutes as some dps can queue for heals/tank and that low level dungeons probably dont really need a real healer/tank

that being said, im sure all of those brainless id10ts that hate RDF and did not want RDF ever to come to wotlk will probably roll tanks and queue as tank, get in the group and grief them and come to the forums and complain about RDF is broken and doesnt work

Just another reason why having all these different difficulties for dungeons is idiotic.
