Knowing Blizz, they would stuff up the code somehow and people would exploit it to layer hop in the world zones or something lol
Not really, on a healthy server back in the day if you wanted to lone wolf it you were more than capable of doing so.
So yeah not a mega server issue.
These type of statements confuse me. In the current system I don’t feel encouraged to talk to anyone or add them. I think this is more how certain personalities react to situations and less about the tool.
While doing heroics at the start of TBC I added around 15 people to my friends list and a few of them ended up in my guild. Heroics in bad gear actually required a lot of effort in TBC and it was nice to run them with people that were capable.

Dungeons do not matter, you do not matter, the random people you meet in a dungeon do not matter.
I have ran 1000’s of dungeons, and I don’t remember any good experiences or bad experiences… because dungeons don’t matter.
I hear ya, and I think you make your side very clear. I am more so saying that I think this is more of a different personality type reacting to the content/tool rather than the tool itself.
In the current system you aren’t even supposed too.
lets have you all alone…on the dungeon entrance. your zone is dead for/who too. lets have this before the 50%. it does have people out more. fun fact…its doing the same for retail.
Buffs always being all the boys to the yard to use the song lyric. its when the buff is gone we see who roams the lands. I foresee falloff. Hope I am wrong…only time will tell.

same I as I do in retail. except lfd saves me the spamming. it notifies me I have a match.
or, I am in discord. It really is the better chat/im application. Not even a blizzard ding. I’ve always used 3rd party for any game I played. No game has ever made in game comms I have liked.
ts,vent, mIRC…and so on. this has always been the way for me.

I guess I have to join a 30 thousand person 1 faction mega server to get that “realm identity” with faster queue times.
Honestly it just sounds like you hate any interaction with anyone lol.
Please define what “matters” to you, so we can all look in horror at the hellscape you wish to inflict on us. 
If you think people should wait an hour or not run dungeons because you want to screen who joins your group…

YOU DON’T GET BIS GEAR FROM DUNGEONS, YOU GET PRE-BIS.
Dungeons do not matter, their rewards do not matter… it does not effect the game if people can run 100’s of dungeons a day.
Social connection will not be made without RDF - I point to two classic expansion with it not in as an example… the groups are toxic, it takes insanely long to form a group… massive gatekeep… We are literally playing what its like with no RDF right now… AND IT SUCKS.
Im all for RDF even if they restrict it to your server, or remove teleporting.
But honestly at this point im just hoping for the bare minimum of them using retail LFG instead of the abomination they put in beta
The compromise to make it work from a common sense and fairness standpoint would be to give greater rewards than RDF does for those who manually form their groups.
I floated the idea lastnight that manually formed groups should get 5 more badges per person per run than RDF groups. It doesnt have to strictly be that way but I think people get the idea - give the people doing more some more for it.
