Here is the thing, I enjoy chatting in general, trade etc. but if I leave those channels then I cannot do so (even though I’m breaking no rules). I can ignore those I don’t want to see in those channels but then if those that I’m talking with do not then our conversation gets buried in the mound of stupid. RCR is quick, easy, and shuts up the mound of stupid.
You called everyone racist, reporting you for insults. That was against rules.
That is what you asked for. Racism was always against rules. RCR just makes all chat silenceable.
No one here is talking about racism/homophobia etc.
And if they are abusing the system they will be penalized. The time I will be wrongfully squelched is inconsequential to them getting their accounts busted.
Nothing about private servers should be emulated.
Especially the terribad communities.
No, you are yelping for something to be changed that isnt even slightly on the table for being changed…and I am trolling you.
No I’m not. I’m 100% certain rcr will never go away.
And thats for the best little fella
They could just make RCR not auto or require at least 40 reports to trigger. Otherwise it’ll be easily abused.
Even blizzard stated that 99% of reports were dumb.
-Blizz 2019
really ? where did they state this, This sounds like that fake news that the US president keeps making up in his head.
Nah, they can leave it exactly as presently designed.
The nice thing about these pants-on-head sky-is-falling threads and posts is that more people will be less likely to be bad actors in public channels, with the knowledge that there is actually a downside to it.
I applaud the efforts that educate more players to act more civilly, respectful and less disruptive.
do the pants fit over the AFDB ?

There is a video from blizzcon where they were asked about “permitting toxicity”. Blizzard handled that answer tactfully and well.
You can YouTube it, don’t be lazy.
Summary:
-99% reports were dumb
-Word toxic is an emotional but inaccurate word to describe quarrels
-they have an algorithm
Thankfully squelches are not triggered by a single report, which no doubt makes up that 99%. That 1%? That is squelches that rightfully happened.
Dude, when I did beta for classic. All I can say is that I saw few emotionally unstable people fill chat call everyone “salty” and threaten reports. They couldn’t because it was disabled. You don’t get that on pservers where no one gives a damn.
Giving that power to people like that is bad. There should be account wide flag for people who file dumb reports so that it simply doesn’t do anything.
People who were in the classic beta were current subs to WoW. Those people currently have “that power” in game, and it has not led to what the fear mongerers claim will happen in classic.
If anything, again, all of these threads and posts are getting the word out that one should take a moment to actually think before hitting the enter
button.
While it would be nice for Blizzard to monitor and reprimand those abusing the system, it will most likely result in them just ignoring that particular person when they submit future reports. Even in real-life examples today we allow people to submit false reports of crimes and when proven to be false, there is no action taken on the accuser.
Which should not be emulated.
Nothing from private servers should be emulated. Especially the terrible community.
