Rbgs doa in 9.1?

Are rbgs just dead on arrival? Too many boosters last season? Did no one come back for 9.1 content?

Just seems like pvp community is crazy small so far in 9.1 based on listed teams

idk if boosting is the problem, but something is definitely up. I don’t think I’m supposed to be queuing into 2300 or 1500 teams at 1900 mmr.

Boosting killed it for me and, that was the major product of “PvP vendors returning”. Casual pvp playerbase is leaving by the sounds of it. Just return with the original PvP vendors which had equal ilvl season conquest gear. — equal ilvl conquest gear vendors would spark the PvP playerbase in to a return. I know I would return to spam random battlegrounds all expansion long and stop playing any other game/games from other companies.

Last season you can use pvp gear in pve. So more player base. Thats what i think.

S1 was in a very healthy state for RBGs and PvP overall. New content, everyone was fresh, weren’t overly concerned with renown (at the time). Even PvE players hopped in because the glad gear was a very nice boost for them. Filling whatever slots they needed to do their content all while populating BGs and such. I do both and getting a 207 bow glad bow on week 2 while I got the helmet in week 1 felt very rewarding to me.

This season is really rough and mainly because:

  • The massive content drought we had.
  • A lot of the player base, particular PvE players in this case, already being geared.
  • Covenant Renown status and the honor trap.
  • Recrafting legendary items, which left a very bad taste in everyone’s mouth.

a typical season like the last 4 years… log on for 2 months. get 2100 or whatever and then quit till next season.

It was an illusion that forcing PvE players to do rated PvP meant PvP was healthy. Of course those players quit PvP as soon as they got their gear.

Illusion or not, healthier then vs. what we have now. New players aren’t even welcome because of the renown system and the huge gear gap. Normally I’m okay with gear gaps so long as they’re reasonable, but renown is a huge mistake and the gear gap being this bad is a huge turn off for a lot of people.

The funny thing is, all of the problems that are being faced right now in RBGs and even in arena with gear would be solved over night if they let us upgrade our honor gear to 220 right now.

That and reduce the increase at each bracket from 6-7 levels to 3…so the total power gap is halved.

You still get better gear as you progress, but it won’t be as one-sided as it is now and gear won’t matter as much.

And get rid of there being multiple ranks to PvP gear. Honor (starting pvp gear) conquest (bis pvp gear). The end.
