Rating the "leaked" potential classes based on likelihood

They are obvious fake leaks. And necromancer will never be a thing, because they would steal 99% of unholy dk’s kit.

Exactly. People believing this but not thinking “source?”.

And yet you can’t claim a source. This is fake. Has no legit source. Someone trolled hardcore and got a lot of you. This isn’t hard to photoshop(blizz surveys).

This part of the survey was a photoshop fake someone made to troll. There’s no legit source for it.

It’s not really a leek it was a survey asking what kind of classes or abilities people were interested in. This was sent to a broad player base. More heavily in Asia and UK countries were they want to get player number up. They also had a disclaimer that most these were probably just going to specs and abilities rolled into exciting classes. Very few stand a lone.

The grain of salt is in those regions they already do some things differently in the game to work those player needs. I.E Demon Hunters can be Orcs, Zandalari Trolls, raid lockouts, materials gathering, crafting, in game expenses tend to be lower since some regions can play less time, and some have different mounts and pets with abilities. So even if these new skills or abilities hit in the near future, probably not anytime soon, might not be in NA.
They did similar survey pre-litch king and a lot changed I.E we were getting hero arcs, you hit max level you choose a path and become something permanently completely new. I can’t remember all of the hero classes most reflect in current hero tallent trees, but pally had pretty much a warrior of light tomb and shiled tanky type, and a death knight. Rogues had demon hunter, and a pistol pirate class.
Outcome was most all got scapped to save time and money, was a lot of work put in, a lot of brainstorming season’s, and surveys, year + of work trashed. Because the amount of armor demands, races, balance hassel that they cant even do now. Was to much for them to execute properly. Pistol user became a rogue spec, Deathknight was removed from pally and became its own class since was most popular, Demonhunter became its own class and removed from rogue. Warrior classes are litterally the current TWW hero Tallents, tinker was a hunter idea or evolution of engineering since they were contemplating trashing engineering. Most of the current hero tallent trees and abilities are just the hero classes made, tested, from pre-litch king planning cut down sadly. And that’s how long they were sitting on it. Almost a decade, and they are just using the old dev files. Even this new survey isnt knew so keep that in mind. But the ideas are not original in any form pretty much someone probably pulled up old files on an old drive and had some ideas.

(Current survey was Germany, Northern slavic areas, China, KR areas. And survey spells and classes varied on those regions)
You do have some over exited fans in NA pushing ideas in order to get classes they want with miss information even altering the original survey images, Blizz never acts well to being backed into a coner. I translated and read the originals when they went out and have seen some spin offs since fan made.

I would much rather have some creativity.

I don’t know why it reminds me of it so much but dancer/bard or entertainer like what there was in Star Wars Galaxies. Like a non-combat class that gives out buffs. Need a buff or some healing? Go watch this Wookie dance in the inn.

Bard makes more sense as a profession than a class.

A small green goblin with a robotic backpack that can transform into a Gundam isn’t creative?

That’s not really the point.

This is absolutely false.

You may be thinking of private servers.

I’ve always thought Spellbreaker would work perfectly as the “glaive throwing” DH spec, to give it a little more lore flavor than just “demon hunter but it throws its weapons.” DH is already a little anti-magic styled anyway so I don’t think it would be out of place.

The Illidari are on friendly terms with the Wardens now, and with the Legion defeated it doesn’t seem out of the realm of possibility that some of its members might want to reconnect a bit with their cultures/traditional fighting styles. WC3 spellbreakers threw their glaives and there have been a few instances of Wardens doing the same. Mix bits of the two fighting styles together and amp them up with a bit of fel magic and there’s your spec.

The only roadblock is that to get that classic Spellbreaker “glaive and shield” look they’d need to make Agi shields which would be one more weapon type that is only available to DH. Not to mention how much work it’d be to come up with an entirely new design theme and populate all the content DH can level through with them.

Most of them sound like specs tbh, so I’m gonna go w/ tinker.

This is not true at all. The only thing different in other regions is localization which has to do with wording and laws… not anything like what you are saying.

wrath was delayed cuz they had to reskin all the skeletons but that’s the biggest difference.

Wow. You’re a special kind of person. Usually one without many if any friends, but other people are the problem, never you.

Yeah. They have a different client because anything dealing with death (especially skeletons) is a big no-no. But all of it are client-side model replacements or changed names. No major server-side changes like different race/class combos.

Tinker or bust.

Don’t believe the hypePublic Enemy

The three most popular and most requested classes are Tinker, Necromancer, and Bard.

So far we only have 1 physical ranged dps, and that’s Hunter. Tinker could bring another one to the table. This is the one I want the most.

Necromancer would be cool. If they do get added, I hope they get a Lich form. And the summoning mechanics would have to be different from Demo. But I’d like to see it.

Bard, it could be a heal/dps/suppport class. I must admit, out of the three, this is the one I would least like to see. Don’t get me wrong, if it’s done right it would be cool, but I just don’t like the Bard archtype all that much.

Highly doubtful, it doesn’t fit the theme of midnight from what we know since its gunna be elven based and given how they release classes the most likely expansion for one, id like to see spellbreaker, i think thats the most thematically likely class

Unmentioned but noteworthy:

Animator, The Golem Mage

  • The animator is first and foremost an artist. Where the Materializer has an assortment of trinkets and doodads, the Animator pours their very essence into a singular powerful construct. This strange bond between creator and creation allows the Animator freedom to act while her construct manages combat tasks, from guarding to attacking. This does not mean the Animator lacks their own trickery, harvesting soul energy from her opponents to weaken their attacks.

Materializer, Just For Reference

  • A spike trap from a solid wall, a rain of razors, and was that a safe that just fell from the sky? The materializer tends to be the most childish wizard in his attacks, with tactics that seem to be drawn from two-copper comics. The materializer also adds edges to his allies blades and sheen to their armor, so don’t count them short when seeking companions.

This is separate IP so they would have to safeguard, but the core ideas are established.

i think one thing that should be taken into consideration is that many on the list might not necessarily be FULL classes, but rather the names for potential HERO specializations.

I could maybe see Tinker and Bard being a Full Class. But many of the other ones i think warrant just being a specialization. We also have to consider the following:

We have 3 plate wearers, 3 mail wearers, 3 cloth wearers, but 4 leather wearers. We’re missing three classes to fill out the other armor types.
Of these, we also have 3 hero classes, and of the 13 classes we have…

  • 13 DPS specs Each class is capable of DPS
  • 6 out of 13 classes can be healers (Druid, Paladin, Priest, Monk, Evoker, Shaman)
  • 5 out of 13 classes can be tanks (Druid, Monk, Warrior, Paladin, Death Knight)

Looking at this, and the potential for a full class.

We could benefit from more tanks and healers, and likely a Plate class, a Cloth Class or a Mail Class.

If we were to get a Bard, while most fantasy games typically have them wear Leather (like D&D)… i could see them giving them Mail, and having their Tank spec be a battle-singing Skald. A healer spec could be using the radiant song to heal wounds, and DPS spec would be akin to what Aug does.

A Tinker would probably be a Clothie, that utilizes gadgets and machinery for damage akin to a caster, but a tank spec that lets them hop into a giant Mechsuit. Our first “Cloth Tank” (though its operating a vehicle basically).

In order to warrant being a class, it needs to be broad enough that it warrants being stand-alone and not just tacked onto an existing class as a hero spec… AND it needs to be broad enough to warrant diverse specs and future hero specs.

With that context in mind, i have no idea what would fill a 4th Plate full class.

As to the other leaked names, i personally believe those are all just ideas they are tossing around for future Hero Specializations. And many of them probably are just things they were spit-balling in a group.
