Rating the "leaked" potential classes based on likelihood

I buy it in the sense that I believe Blizzard is probing interest in new class concepts. Surveys are cheap so Blizzard might as well throw every concept they have to the wall to see what sticks. I doubt all of these concepts are equally far in development or equally likely. I would actually expect multiple of them to come true but I could see some of them being a few expansions out. Some of them in very different forms compared to what the survey describes.

Right now though it’s just a concept sheet put out by Blizzard. That’s a little exciting I guess but it’s not hinting at something big imminently.

Asking for proof is not asking much if you say something the burden of proof is on you not me.

Exactly.

Thank you.

Copium for anti intellectualism. This isn’t a peer reviewed paper it’s an NDA survey.

This is the point you’re missing that this person made.

Get over yourself there was no leak.

I’m starting to believe that Tinker might be coming mid-expansion like Augmentation did in the previous expansion.

Which would make this survey rather bogus.

I wish…but I HIGHLY doubt they would add a new class when it wouldn’t drive box sells.

To be fair, the survey has been the main topic on GD for the last week. Basically everyone knows about it. If not on the loop…

bet the new class gets 3 specs and DH’s are left crying for a 5th expansion.

I saw the survey with my own eyes. Its very real. Not to mention the people violating the NDA and posting it.

But if someone just wants to blindly dismiss it, thats in them.

Its just wierd for their primary contribution to a thread discussing the options to be an attempt to refute the survey’s existance. We get it, you dont think its real. So why contribute? We dont have to prove anything is real to have this discussion.

I agree, new classes are more likely to be a new expansion thing. That said no part of this survey led me to believe any of this was materializing any time soon.

That also said, every time Blizzard releases a new class, they usually make it one that is heavily tied to the theme of the expansion. Neither Midnight nor Last Titan scream any of these new classes to me.

For a very brief point in time I thought that the Undermine(d) patch might be accompanied by Tinker since the thematic tie there is obvious. But if that was forthcoming we would have known about it by now. No way Blizzard is telling us about patch features and forgot to mention the new class.

If they drive box sales at the beginning of an expansion, they’ll drive them in the middle as well.

Yeah, thats always the biggest problem and why, if they do add a new class in the next 2 x-packs, it’ll be one of the random ones.

We like aee never getting a technology themed x-pack so tinker is out. But wierd magic classes always has a chance

TBF, we didn’t know about Augmentation Evoker until 10.1.5. If this is coming, we similarity won’t know about it until 11.1.5. Blizzard may have pushed it after competitive raiding tier in order not to significantly throw off balance.

Nah.

Just going to point out…they have never released a class mid-expansion and the ony thing close was Augmentation. And Augmentation probably happened because they released the class unfinished.

Like I said before, I wish you were right. But its unrealistic and if it was going to happen we would probably already know about it to hype sells. At a minimum, there would be a mystery symbol on the 2025 roadmap.

That’s partially why I think many of these hint at new specs or hero talents. Blizzard has already proven they’re willing to add a new spec in the middle of an expansion, and a lot of these survey entries don’t seem distinct enough from existing classes to justify a new class. But I can see a lot of them as either specs or hero talents. Tinker and maybe Apothecary are the only ones that smell like new classes to me.

Never say never. Just because they never did it before doesn’t mean that they’d never do it. We also have indicators (although minor) that something is up.

Lack of animals would be a good start.

MM used to be the spec to use a gun without animal nonsense, but now they get a government mandated falcon…

Personally, I think the vast majority of the things mentioned in that survey are far more likely to be hero talents than full classes.

I could see Tinker or Bard making their way into the game as classes since they are fairly ubiquitous fantasy tropes, but I could also see them making it in as hero talents if blizzard decides to really dive in on the hero talent system instead of having them only being mostly-passive boosts as it currently sits in-game.

I’m hopeful for Tinker as a fully fledged class, regardless. One of my favorite classes from FF14 is Machinist, so having that fantasy present in WoW to play would be nifty.

The only way I will accept a Tinker class is if all their abilities have long, but abbreviated names.

Hear me out:
What if hero talents but shared across two classes rather than two specs?
Gunslinger: Hunter/Rogue
Necromancer: DK/Warlock
Astrologian: Priest/Druid
Battlemage: Warrior/Mage

Insane? Yes. Likely? Not in the slightest. Brilliant? Ehhhhhhh…
