The amount of honor you get from losses in Wrath BG’s makes them an actual waste of time, around 1k honor in WSG for example. Even with the 30% discount, PVP gear in Wrath is quite expensive.
Pre-mades are really hurting the Wrath Random BG experience more than ever due to low honor rates for a loss and those players forming pre-mades should be facing equally geared teams instead of being granted a free win.
RBG’s are needed regardless.

Nobody wants to play arenas 24/7 for points. Give people another competitive option. This would also help solve the premade in regular bg’s problem.

If it was after Wrath then I don’t think there should be any in Wrath.
Introduced in Cataclysm. I can understand from a purity standpoint people not wanting it. I’d moreso root for it if we go to a sort of classic + type of deal after Wrath since i’d be interested how it plays out with the talents/balances
IF RDF sucks, then so does the random BG queue according to your bad logic.
I mean outside of me having to farm honor i’d agree w/ u, i don’t play random BGs for fun. RDF sucks cuz it killed socializing and the world environment. It was toxic for the game, and random BGs make me feel the same way even more if I ever bother to read the chat in game. Do you remember the last time you made a friend in a random BG?
We had rated bg in retail, it was a terrible terrible idea. Bg has no esport values
I’d argue rated BGs have a much higher esport value than arena even does, I think a 6v6 format would work 10x better than arena which has seen a tremendous decline in viewership over the years.
That being said, I don’t think esport value has any reason to be in the conversation of why something should or shouldn’t be in the game. I think trying to drive too hard into esports assisted in wow’s downfall over the years.
No, it only good for a small number premades of aoe group. It was so bad, Blizzard give it up in legion or so. It fails before, it will fail again. Bg are just bad for esport

i dont want rbgs just because rbg players are the most insufferable people ive ever met in my life and i dont want to have to think about the possibility of needing to cooperate with them to achieve some sort of goal

Lack of updates, people overall quitting the game - I mean arena isnt nearly as popular as it once was so why did that die out. Forgive me if I don’t take 1800 andy from the forums advice on the RBG metas over the years.
Arena is wow’s main eport tournament. People played retail wow now, has not even heard of RBG. It was a mistake
WoW’s main esport tournament gets like 6k viewers for a final, its dead lol

i feel like a lot of why arena isnt popular to watch as an esport is because 98% of people can’t really follow whats going on that well from the spectator PoV… i am an arena andy and i feel a bit overwhelmed watching spectator for 6 players at once i cant imagine what its like to someone who doesn’t really pvp
