Raiding is getting absolutely ridiculous with visual clutter. Boss fights with 10,000 different circles, floor patches, objects and a small army’s worth of adds. If you have any visual impariments, like me, it becomes almost impossible to see anything.
There’s too much garbage on the floor in these raids, and not just in the garbage boss either, I can barely tell where I’m standing half the time. Why is there so much visual garbage? So many people have been complaining about visual clarity and clutter in raids for years and yet they just keep doing this. They keep making boss fights with more and more and more visual noise and nothing that can be done about it.
It’s enough. Stop doing it. Turn down the visual clutter already. Making the swirlies more distinct is a nice step forward, but it doesn’t matter when you’re filling the fights with visual garbage that are all the same color and bleed together into a big orange blob.

I absolutely hate the particulate soup that is the area near any boss nowadays.
strongly support this post.

I think being able to actually see where your character should stand is one of those changes that every single player would support, let’s see if it happens/keeps happening.

I snapped this pic during Mythic Lords of Dread in Shadowlands.
This is with spell effects turned down to “essential”.

Every aspect of the game is cluttered. The visuals are the symptom of a bigger disease.

overly mechanized fights with random aoe soup.
long gone are the days of simple, clean, crisp mechanics like a deep breath.
bossfights feel more like Just-Dance maps than Bossfights lately.
The occasional spinning on a ball and conveyor belts on the floor delivers the extra clown fiesta experience.

Sometimes I get an itch to play a melee character, I’ve always been a Ranged main.
Nothing is a bigger deterrent than raiding. It’s just an eyesore.
I actually thought they were improving the circle visuals this patch? But then one of my first thought this raid was “Really? Green on Green?”
Like who thought Green swirlies with Green mobs next to a Green acid river was a good idea lol

Sprocketmonger Lockenstock is one of the worst bosses I can think of in recent memory because of this. I don’t know if I’m standing in good or bad, and I just hope for the best.

And this is why I stopped raiding in DF. It is even worse now (I’ve tried it). I just can’t handle the visual noise/clutter any longer, it hurts my eyes and it hurts my brain.

100% agreed and is a massive problem for blizzard that they’ve not ever improved.

They whiteboard a bunch of mechanics, then just include all of them.
Every. Fight.

I was like I dont have epilepsy, but after being in a raid recently and seeing everything being cast, I had a real WTF moment, Im like this is gonna actually cause me to stroke out lol. They def need to just allow us to see our own spell particals and the fights, thats all I should see. There is just way to much spell clutter now its insane

Which used to be a toggle in the game. But they took it out.

Give me a toggle to turn off all allied spell effects.
All of them.
If they’re on my team, I don’t need to know what they’re doing more than I need to know what the boss is doing.

Cataclysm was the beginning of “weird for the sake of being weird” mechanics. Heroic Deadmines was the first one. It’s like the encounter designers are always trying to one-up their last fight.
