Rank3 essences should be baseline now

Progression begins and ends with the amount of effort the player is willing to put in. If you are content with staying where you are then it is what it is. If you aren’t, put a couple weeks of dailies in. It’s that easy. This is coming from someone who has been playing bfa for a month since lockdown and has multiple r3. SL is still months away

Actually no, the essence vendor thing was something I suggested numerous times. I suggested they do it basically exactly how it is except that you could just buy them without any specific requirement in having had them before.

They didn’t give me exactly what I wanted, they gave a watered down version that was only good for alts of people who were playing in 8.2. So I continue asking for what I was asking for from the start.

Your argument is invalid for one simple reason, the power growth in WoW is absolutely insane.
The difference between geared 120’s and 1 week old 120’s is absolutely massive. Which would be ok except:
A) Old raids are barely touched. Only the current raid tier is done and you need to be 450+ to get into those groups anyway.
B) There is no divide between undergeared and geared players in random BGs.

Good luck, because the essence vendor is the very thing we needed, why should I be able to buy Conflict and Strife or Blood of the Enemy rank 3 on any of my alts? I haven’t even entered a BG this xpac. And haven’t touched any of the assaults or CTA’s.

I’ll put it simply, grinding forced dailies is not a remedy for “nothing to do”.

Because the requirements for some of them were really awful to begin with + going back to 8.2 content for a lot of them is dumb.

Having to get a PvP rating to get that essence was always a garbage requirement. It was an experiment to try to get more people into rated PvP. The experiment was a failure. They already have their data on whether anyone tried it and stuck around past getting the essence already, no need to continue gathering more data to see how unpopular rated PvP continues to be.

Catch up mechanics in past expansions didn’t require you do an old raid several times to catch up. There’s some essences that would require 20+ weeks on LFR or 10+ on normal. New or returning players won’t have the achievements to get into pugs of heroic/mythic versions to get them in the 2-3 weeks those require for the same essence.

Well guess what. It takes a lot of time and resources to make content. So either get used to it or stick to the Xbox and PS4.

You must be trying to join the wrong groups then, you can easily join EP groups because people are still farming them for the trinkets.

Then they can make their own groups if they want to. There is literally always a group for Ep in lfg usually more than one.

Do the content, get the reward. As it should be.

I really don’t see the relation between console and this MMO RPG who is always different and keeps changing of formula, not every expansion at this point. Every major patch.

MMOs have followed the very basic concept of treadmills to chase the carrot since the genre became mainstream.

In every expansion you have a basic story concept then a collection of treadmills to keep people busy increasing their character power.

People always whine when they see others are a higher power level and they want to be there with less time invested.

My point is this is the MMO and how they work. If you don’t like it then hit the consoles for more games that give instant gratification.

You never used to need to go back to outdated content to get old rewards because they were still BiS in current content. The only exceptions were the occasional trinket or a legendary that most people probably didn’t bother with.

You shouldn’t have to go back to 8.2 content in 8.3. Since the essences are still important and there’s a new vendor system in place already anyway, the essences should just be sold for that currency whether you had them on a different character or not.

You’re still doing content to get a reward. It’s just that you’re now doing 8.3 content to get a reward in 8.3 instead of 8.2 content.

Big disagreement. There’s two type of MMO RPGs player. Those who play and try and able to critic in place systems, as it should be. Or people who just play WoW and don’t even know other games exists.

Yes, but BFA is literally the one that force you to play in the past before coming into fray and play with every one else. It’s a terrible formula and far from being friendly. Content or not, if you make a live game move forward, so should everyone.

I don’t see whining here. Is see very valid arguments.

This is not really about intent gratification. It’s about the fact there’s a gap between players. And that is where it’s bad. Past expansions never suffered from it this bad.

The main competition of WoW is flooding with sprouts players, which is the logo for them next to their name. And guess, most of them I had chance to talk to, said they did not enjoyed BFA.

It’s people choices at the end of the, true. But it’s easy to see there is an issue with this whole game here. Addiction versus seeing the truth are two things. Progression curve should be into gearing up, the rest, should be optional.

8.2 isn’t outdated content. It’s still very relevant and part of current player progression system. People are just lazy and want to skip it.

Why would any of that be a problem for new players? Just because its old to us doesn’t mean its old to someone that has never seen it before.

If it was relevant the rewards from it should also contribute towards the progression curve. Which is not the case at all. It’s a chore in the way between you (The player.) and a requirement, at most times.

Yes it is.

The mythic 8.2 raid drops 445 ilvl gear. 8.2 content is not current beyond Blizzard trying to force you to keep going back to it if you need essence.

Don’t forget about trinkets, Razor Coral from Ashvane and Font of Power from Azshara.

Yea guess the crafting trainers along with the mats aren’t relevant at all. Also essences that people are chasing. We don’t see constant threads about Druid bot trains in nazjatar at all. Not relevant. Got it. Skip it. Too lazy to do it.

So when I came back to WotLK when Tournament came out after having quit in Naxx, I did not need to farm Ulduar before I could do tournament.

I did happen to go back to Ulduar to get achievements for a mount, but I did not need to go back for the gear. I got catch up gear in a week and moved on to current content in terms of getting actual gear I needed to use. There may have been a trinket or something I wanted on an alt, but that was about it. The healer legendary might have been nice but I didn’t bother.

We’re not talking about doing old raids to see the content and storyline. If they just want to see it they can do it once in LFR for the story.
