Rank3 essences should be baseline now

No. You were wrong. We’re talking about a player rejoining the game, no? Just stating all of the facts.

Besides, if just being 460 was enough, we wouldn’t have had so few people pushing 15s in the first few weeks of this season.

A 460 player without BIS Azerites, without R3 Essences, and without good Corruptions playing in a +15 is 100%, absolutely being carried.

And that’s not playing with friends. That’s being carried by friends. There’s a difference.

I started late in the expansion and had to delay playing 8.3 because of work. They’ll be fine - it doesn’t take long to catch up.

I was :man_shrugging:

Only one I didn’t have timed at 15 by the end of the second week was troll dagor because it was sanguine grievous.

This honestly sounds like a git gud problem to me. You won’t be as powerful but can absolutely contribute your fair share.

Congratz. Now let’s talk about everyone else.

You’re wrong.

“Fair share” includes having your BIS Azerites, R3 Essences, and good Corruptions.

Oh, and knowledge and experience of all the fights and affixes. That is the bare minimum for +15s.

Ok. Everyone in my guild and friends list was about the same. More focused on raid etc but did plenty of keys too.

Bis essences are a bare minimum? Jeez
If that’s your criteria for people pugging it sounds like you want to be carried tbh.
460 ilvl with a couple of random corruptions is fine for 15s. You might not be 2 cheating much but you should still do 50k dps or so which is enough.

I just resubbed last week after quitting right before 8.2 released. I’ve been grinding all the essences on my shaman and have made good progress. The only one I wish I could skip right now is blood of the enemy. That 30k grind is going to be painful.

That’s why returning players don’t return. They’re waiting for Shadowlands expansion.

Yea at least they brought it down from 50k.
If you are in no rush for it then it’s east when the arathi basin pve version is up.

Fair share implies that everyone is doing equally good, and equally contributing. If I’m doing 2x, or even 1.5x, another DPS’ damage, he is not contributing his fair share, and in fact I am carrying him.

And on the topic of BIS Essences in particular, people should have had those unlocked last season. So moving into this season, it is the norm to have 3/4 BIS Essences at the start. And so should, and will, be naturally expected.

You could do a 15 in time with 5 characters that are all new. How do I know? Because literally everyone was new week 1 of the patch and people did it then.

Week 1 people didn’t even have 4 essences and Cape was capped at 5.

No. Everyone going into week 1 of this season started with 3/4 BIS Essences, 6/6 BIS Azerites, (or close, I suppose, maybe 5/6 is more reasonable for most people), though with a lower IL than the new max, of course, and a random corruption or two.

A fresh 120 that got mass carried to 460 really quick will absolutely not have even the bare minimum requirements that everyone else started with.

Passing out ez catch-up mechanics like candy only encourages more people to take extended breaks.

And then they return to the game and ask questions about how to do XYZ, when what they have now are different from what we’ve done few patches ago before the catch-up mechanics were implemented.

But of course, they have no idea that we don’t actually know the answers to their questions, because they weren’t here playing the game.

No thanks.

I still think it would be easy enough to do 1/5th of what is needed to time a 15 within 2 weeks oh hitting 120 on a fresh character.
It just takes good play. Everyone over geared everything and gets lazy because they can but you can still do content less geared if you play well.

Lol, no.

You can’t expect people to preform as well as people who regularly clear +15s, with a fraction of the gear effects that said other people have.

The skill advantage that the fresh 120 would have, would have to be immense. Not to mention, it’s probably mathematically impossible, since gear and all of their effects are a core component as to what makes up a person’s DPS.

They should remove the achievement requirements from the new essence vendors and just let people buy them with the currency whether they had them on another character or not.

You guys are wasting your breath with these people. They will never be happy until they can make an alt or catch up to everyone else with the very minimal effort put into the game.

I don’t know why they even play MMOs. They seem to despise treadmill mechanics or “don’t have the time” to play these types of games. They constantly gripe on the forums instead of actually playing the game and nothing is ever good enough for them.

3000 follower experience to get rank 3 lucid dreams. 10 days of dailies good grief. Most of the others are fairly quick as well. But but but I don’t want to do dailies. I want rank 3 now so I can spam repeat dungeons or raids instead. Then I can come to the forums and gripe that there isn’t anything to do.

Time gated player power is totally fun and great for the game.
I love doing random BGs with 200k HP people who have level 1 traits. They’re not useless at all.

This is why Blizzard is going to stop listening to people again, they give people what they ask for, and then people just keep asking for more.
