Rank your worst prepatch/expansion release experiences

I think with today/yesterday’s absolute flop, which probably isn’t even remotely close to being done as we can see:

  1. Classic TBC pre-patch
  2. WOD
  3. *Going to already put Classic TBC Launch here as a placeholder, most likely gonna start this high
  4. Classic WoW Launch
  5. MOP
  6. TBC
  7. WOTLK
  8. Cata
  9. BFA
  10. Legion

Also a very honorable mention to Diablo 3 launch which was another extremely massive fail.

What about you?

hahahahah thats a perfect order of top ten flops

Was MOP the one where everyone got stuck in a helicopter spiral thing?

Cata is also ‘memorable’ for me as my then-ISP decided that launch night was a great time to do maintenance.

Isn’t WoD the only time they’ve ever failed so spectacularly that they actually credited everyone with 5 days play time? That should put it at #1 by default.

If memory serves me right, the Fury of the Sunwell patch was a horrid experience

Yes it was lol MOP start was busted

well since i STILL CAN’T LOG IN i guess TBC has to be #1

yeah WOD was by far the worst launch it was so broken you literally couldn’t do anything

It’s top 2 for me. Launching a new game and not knowing how it’s gonna work seems to me like it’s not as bad a re-launching the same exact thing 15 years later and failing even worse at it.

WOD also, no one has any fond memories of it other than Gormaul tower phasing phiasco. The game is a 0/10 all around.
