Range check change may break many unit frames

Won’t this break many 3rd party unit frames that give visual indicators for people and targets that are out of range?

Seems like a bad change unless there’s going to be some other API kept just for unitframes?

Is it confirmed to be in classic as well?

the /range capability of DBM uses your map position to find your coordinates on the map to find where you are in relation to other people.

The UI for whether or not you are in range of someone for a healing spell just checks that you are in range, not in which direction or how close they are to you.

These are different APIs, unit frames will be fine.

For example, I think Vuh’do has an option where if someone is out of range, it will draw an arrow to point to where they are in relation to you so you can close the gap. That arrow will be broken, but the fading of the unit frame to let you know they are not within 40 yards will still work.

Yes, according to DBM on twitter (https://twitter.com/deadlybossmods/status/1725429285031141881?s=20)

0 change in the classic api fyi. add this to the end of imgur gB1l7v9.jpg works perfectly fine

Use grave marks (the shift version of the tilde (left of the “1” key on US keyboards) to wrap URLs
example: `weblink here`

Also, your picture is not what people are looking for. They are looking for the range check radar. There are a few ways to check if people are within a certain distance of you that aren’t being affected, but those API calls don’t tell you where they are in relation to yourself.
