Has anyone been getting random freezes on WOTLK classic? Updated NVIDIA graphics driver but I don’t think it was that since the freezes happened before I updated too.
How long do they last?
Is it mostly upon login or just random?
Does the game crash?
How long is the freeze?
How often?
I used to get game freezes when starting fights (not every fight but it happened on LK) and ever since i removed Classic off of my SSD (which I honestly regret, load times are a pain) it doesn’t happen. Makes me think that it was addon memory or something cause when I did the move I lost my data (RIP TSM data) and had to redo my UI.
I got my addon + cache folder backed up on an external harddrive 
During Ulduar, a lot of people were reporting performance issues out of blue. I was one of those people. Game just started lagging like crazy. Wasn’t spikes perse, more of a insane FPS drop.
Nothing helped except for a clean re-install.
Yeah I was having the same issues, I think I actually did uninstall/reinstall when “moving” it off my SSD so what you’ve said makes sense to me.
They just happen randomly but often lately. Usually it would freeze before arena queue would pop but it would also freeze when I get messaged from someone either through bnet or ingame. Freezes are about 20-30 sec long. I’ve heard of questie really messing up game function so I’ve deleted it for good and haven’t had a freeze so far. Also got rid of atrox which is like an addon that pools arena data second by second which probably pooled way too much data. Every time I clicked on atrox I would freeze or lag for a second or two as well.
It really could be any of those things.
Questie is indeed known to cause some issues due to some scan feature. Live AH updates.
Then there are also occasional issues with larger WA packs (such as foji). Make sure to clean up your old/obsolete WAs. Check for updates via WeakAura companion app.
And in my 12+ years of WoW experience, a good full re-install once a year tends to clean it all up quite nicely.
Just back up your WTF and addon folder (only those that require set up) and clean re-install and drag and drop those folders back in.
Welp it wasn’t questie haha. Switched over to direct 11 legacy now from direct 12… see if thats the issue now. If still freeze might just have to clean install angle.

It freezes a lot of people when a mechanic targets you if you have low ram
found out what it was. it was an addon. I noticed whenever I moused over my chat when someone messaged me that I would freeze randomly. Turned all addons off and it didnt happen. So just turned addons off 1 by 1 and narrowed it down to the twitch emote chat addon and no more freezing.
