this is odd tbh, whenever I’m leveling or trying to do dungeon as maxed level and then whenever i say or post that I’m struggling in finding Groups people are replying “Join a guild”, so hello (mr. cus i’m in guild i don’t struggle as you) Why would randoms having Random dungeon finder is any problem to you if you’re already having friends and guild members to be with, I mean it’s called Random dungeon finder which are supposed to help randoms find dungeon partners among other randoms.
if some would say this “i like to make my own groups to be picky and do reserves” that has nothing to do with RDF, if u hate it because it will prevent you from being selfish then RDF is best solution for fixing the social aspects in this game specially when it kills boosters/selfish people.
I would argue that the best way to experience WoW (WOTLK or otherwise) is with a guild that best suits the player.
Obviously that is easier said than done sometimes. Systems like RDF (and really even LFG) help side step the obstacle of guild membership and typically leads to an inferior experience.
It begs the question though: how much should the game force it? How important should guilds be? How much freedom should players be allowed to have?
I personally want RDF in Wrath. I think that the players should get to decide how, when, and where they want to invest in their social connections. I don’t think the game should force it, but the path of least resistance is sometimes the lesser path to take and people tend to take it even at their own detriment.
This really is the end-all of the Anti-RDF’s argument. They don’t even use the manual finder, they just run with their guild and never think of “socializing” outside of it. Yet they become so triggered that other people would be allowed to play without the burden of an elitist snobby anti-social guild if RDF were introduced.
If Blizzard really wanted to push their new Anti-RDF tool they should disband all guilds completely. As things are now neither side wants to touch it.
I was looking forward to using dungeon finder while leveling to break up the monotony and pop right back into the same quest area after the dungeon without having to backtrack. So now, I just queue for BGs instead of dungeons while questing. Not terrible but not great either.
I never thought the dungeon finder in OG Wrath was a problem.
It’s really only the Retail crowd that wants things like the Mythic+ manual dungeon finder for WOTLK Classic, as well as Mythic+ dungeons added to classic where they don’t belong.
The Anti-RDF keep trying to turn WOTLK into retail, not understanding that their gatekeeping and elitism is exactly what killed retail.
