Random BG team inbalance

Is it so incredibly difficult for game developers to figure out an algorithm/program for Random BG’s that doesn’t pit under geared players against fully geared or premade teams? There’s nothing quite as special as being annihilated over and over again, no matter what faction you play, because teams are so imbalanced. It’s getting really old, Blizz.

And no, a response of ‘just go form your own premade,’ is a lame response to a legitimate question as to why random teams can’t be formed that are more balanced. It would be a much better experience all around for players who enjoy running BG’s.

They have no interest in doing this. They seem to think that the worse the experience of the losers, the more they will be inspired to be like the premade that is farming them in the graveyard.

The real problem is the difficulty gearing up. If they make gearing up easier, naturally you will vs equally-geared players.

The logistics are the problem, not the intentions. The queues are already so lop-sided due to player imbalances, and this would have to be solved before any sort of “matchmaking” could work. Racial tweaks, mercenary mode, and other things have just been band-aids that have not been enough.

The only real fix would be to allow mix-faction queues to take place. This would take queue times completely out of the mix and then they could possibly tweak matchmaking.

If you want to control your teams then play rated.
Random BGs are intentionally a mix of players with different experience, skill, and gear levels. If you don’t like that then random BGs are not for you.
Look into pet battles. That might be more your thing.

Not only do other online games do a better job at matchmaking, but other games owned by blizzard do a better job in matchmaking. It’s not a bad thing to want blizzard to do better with World of Warcraft.

On my server, there are usually a few groups forming for an “honor farm”. They just build a team and que for randoms. Win your one ranked match for the week and farm the honor to upgrade. The amount of conquest, honor and time it takes to gear is why people are constantly forming groups for this. Until this is changed it will continue to happen.

No.

Randoms are intended to be just that: random. NOT “we need our RBG squad to practice for our upcoming rating push so we’re gonna on blow up rando casuals.”

5 people coordinating on Disc may be fun to you, but to others, its a waste of their play time. Once people start seeing the same tell-tale patterns that all premades make, they leave. Then they just don’t queue anymore.

Just because YOU want to “have fun” and “play with your friends” doesn’t mean any one has to stick around long enough to get their heads kicked in, because you (again) are coordinating on Disc.

Its not a total loss however; once the other team gets the notion that you are a pre-made, they always desert, and leave you with an empty BG in which to practice.

And longer queue times.

blizzard devs aren’t designing the game for fairness, they believe that imbalance creates engagement. they want some players to feel like winners, but they really want others to feel like losers. once you feel defeated, then they hit you with this unspoken line: “hey kid, keep losing in pvp? see that guy over there destroying everyone? you can be just like him, all you have to do is buy a carry”

they do this in CoD mobile as well, want to not get destroyed? buy skins and packs. they want you to feel upset at losing while seeing all the people who pay extra money running around having fun and being happy, its to get you to pay money to have what they are having.

they could fix pvp any time they want without even a hotfix, it’s literally a pinky lift, they don’t want to.

Random just means the map. It has zero to do with the teammates you get.

Random refers to the map, not the group size or composition.

I can’t speak for everyone, but I doubt people are forming premades to practice for RBGs. At least high RBGs. Maybe if they’re practicing a new spec/legendary/build to get the hang of it for RBGs, but unlikely what you’re talking about.

How dare people play the game to have fun.

It’s PVP, this is how PVP goes.

At this point? Even if they wanted to do it they probably can’t. There aren’t enough players to fill games so we’re starting get games filled with people from the rest of the world lol. Oceanic/South America/Australia games are now getting far more common. We start breaking up the queues based on gear then we’re all going to be getting into games with 500ms.

No thnx

Listen git.

In all games out there, both new and old, “random” means just that. Not the curbstompinglol euphemism cloaked behind “I jUsT wAnT tO pLaY wItH mY fRiEnDs.”

Like no one can see through that excuse? Words matter, son, just like, a three-letter monosyllabic word that is spelled GIT (not “get”)

You don’t even have a grasp of the English language and you are beclowning yourself by trying to correct others? Move on.

Yeah totes bro we should be modeling WoW after Hearthstone.

Yikes. Random screecher coming in with the 40 IQ takes. Don’t worry, your type is common 'round these parts.

Wakey, wakey. It happens.

Playing with friends is not contingent upon any one else’s participation. Less players = longer queue times.

Enjoy.

So is yours, BnetBrat. :upside_down_face:

I’m glad that you agree that other Blizzard games have better matchmaking. If they can do it in one game, then they can do it in another.

Unfortunately, no, logic and critical thinking is not common around here.

Agreed bruvs, we gotta turn WoW into Overwatch.

The less players who cry and complain out there about people who form groups to play a group-based mmo the better.

Then keep the MMO part for RPing in Goldshire on MG and out of PVP.
