Raids are too complicated

There are so many mechanics that my brain can’t keep up and they are punishing/badly telegraphed as well.

I would like fewer but more punishing mechanics that are properly telegraphed. Also no constant raid wide damage mechanics, this should come from failing mechanics.

This is just my opinion, what do you think? Are raids too complicated? Or perhaps not complicated enough?

Seems like a skill issue champ. Not everyone can compete in the Olympics either. Not going to make them easier so everyone can.

Normal mode raids is incredibly, and i mean INCREDIBLY accessible.

I agree. Raids have gotten to the point that sometimes I can’t even find the stupid door to get in. What really bothers me though is when they tell me to meet them an old raid and I stand there waiting for hours, only to find out they ended up doing current content and somehow the message got lost in space. Hate that.

FIX YOUR MAIL BLIZ! - this is coming from a long time vet, so now know this is a legit request. Dropping a word about playing vanilla too. leetness.

Its a tough issue to discuss. Getting into mythic now is an extreme learning curve when in the past it wasn’t.

Its the art of trying to balance the hardest difficulty with a veteran population. There are good arguments for both sides and no perfect answers.

For the most part with dragon flight blizzard has walked back from " weak aura" fights. ZM really seemed to push it to far.

I have to agree there is way too much. I mean sensory overload lol. Now throw the endless add-ons, scrolling numbers and message splashes lol.

I would not call them punishing much as silly. Too much going on.

There should be no need to have a whole library of add-ons to do a dungeon or raid.
For those that want to label us as “whiners” I urge you to run some raids, dungeons (including M+) WITHOUT A SINGLE ADD-ON…then get back to me LOL!

Oh I’m sure making the Olympics easier so everyone can compete has come up just like doing away with SAT’s and not admitting Asians to Harvard because they are too smart. Just give them time

I want less flashy lights from my allies so I can actually see the telegraphs.

Like a 4’th of july disco every raid. Not so bad when facing a huge boss, by someone small (like Slyvannas) I don’t even see her body.

Raids are designed with boss mods in mind. Blizzard expects you to have boss mods that is why mechanics happen at random intervals and without telegraphs. Which is a jarring experience if you dont have boss mods to be quite honest.

You should still be okay in normal mode though, I think those are expected to be done without addons though.

Gonna be honest. With addons and WA stuff, it’s all irrelevant.

  • DBM literally tells you what to do and when to do it.
  • WA can tell you where to go to do what DBM said.
  • WA also tells you what is available to you to do what DBM said to at the place you were told to be.

And the devs develop raid fights with this in mind. So it should be baseline as part of the UI by now.

There’s nothing that’s really poorly telegraphed. At least not without DBM or Bigwigs, which helps understand timing.

Beyond that, aside from just learning those mechanics, raids are easy enough.

My group has been having trouble, but we’re filthy casuals that raid as a side thing.

Rofl the only fight I find funny to do is Terros… in heroic mode I have gotten remarks almost every time that people must not use weakaura addon because I’m guessing it shows you where to stand? Like why do we need an addon to make two straight lines. :sob: I’m not even good but that isn’t that big a deal.

At the level of content most people play it’s really not hard to use no combat addons, just gotta pay attention. What are you running that you feel it’s necessary?

How many addons do you use? I have DBM (which after running something 2-3 times you can pretty get rid of), bartender, postal, and Tom Tom.

They could have an option for gameplay or immersion telegraph. Also to stop everything having the same color.

Most of the Raids are fine.
But every now and then Blizzard designs a boss that looks like something out of a Touhou game and makes you question the meaning of your life.
