Hello.
I want to go over something today that is plaguing the M+ scene right now and it’s raider io. This addon is . I literally cannot join groups because I don’t have a made up score, it’s almost like I’m slaving away to build up a job resume for crying out loud. It is currently Monday, less than a day before the weekly reset, and I have still not gotten into a single group for my weekly +10.
It’s bad enough that everyone laughs at me for being a feral druid (and honestly, most of the times I DO get into a group, they thought I was balance… ), but now in order for me to do my weekly +10 freehold, I apparently have to do every dungeon at a +11 or a +12 to build up this score, and only then do I have a miniscule chance of getting invited. And yet no one invites me to THOSE keys because I don’t have a score, it’s a catch 22. This is such nonsense. Not to mention how does me doing a +10 in under rot, atal, etc relevant to the freehold I’m queuing up for? Yea, it’s not relevant at all. And yet people are asking me to do this. Why? I timed a +10 freehold before, and I know for a fact I can out-damage 99% of the players I play with and yet no one wants me.
Blizzard, please wake up. You made the same mistake with gearscore in wotlk, it isn’t going to work now. I payed money to play this game and yet I’m being denied the content because you’re allowing this addon to rampage through M+. The worst part about this is that this rider io score isn’t even that good. There are so many trash players with 1000 io score I don’t even know why anyone tries to ask for this when people are trying to get their weekly key done.
Now, I’ve had this conversation before so let me go right ahead and address the 2 most common replies to this post:
-
“Run your own key”. Ok good call. But I got a motherlode from my weekly chest this week, and I guess this dungeon is really, really bad for this week because I put this up on the LFG thing for 3 hours and I got maybe a grand total of 5 applicants, 4 of them were dps, 1 of them a healer, and all of them left because it was taking too long to form the group. Unbelievable. So I’m stuck with a key that no one wants to run apparently.

“Make friends/guild”. Yes I have those. My friends on wow are some of the best I’ve known irl and I don’t want to abandon the guild for a “better” one just because of a flaw in the game like raider io. They are also very casual, so they are not capable of doing high +10 keys. Which is exactly why I pug my weekly +10 every week.
I’m sorry if this comes off as a whiny post but after looking back this week, I’ve spent most of my time clicking the refresh button trying to get into a single +10 key and couldn’t get into a single one. This is where I’ve decided to unsub from the game. It’s just not worth it anymore. I’m not paying $15 a month to click the refresh button.

Edit : Ok You have 2400io, there is no way youre getting declined for 10s. At this point you can damn near solo a +10.
A players score reflects their current M+ progress and they are competing with thousands of better players that have done far more successful keys.
Players are not entitled to run with whom ever you want because you think they are good but have never proven it.

Your opinion is in the minority. Most people who M+ seriously will disagree with you.
Find a better tool. I will wait.
Better yet, create a better tool. I will wait.

Sorry but it’s not my job to carry you. IO Is the only thing that’s saving mythic+. It’s really not hard to raise your score at all. Also you forgot to switch to your alt before making your bait thread.

Note to self: Never do mythic on current expansion or join a guild.

Nah, it’s a must. I pug keys a lot and there have been times where I was like “You know what? I’ll give this 600, 700, 800 io player a chance in my +10” and ended up regretting it every. single. time.

You can tank. Swap to guardian and get your 10 done every week.
And before you throw out the “but no one wants bears” you can absolutely get an invite to a 10.
As someone who casually runs keys, score is only 1201, M+ is the best thing to happen to WoW. The disparity between 400-415 ilvl players in terms of skill, is the highest it’s ever been imo. But one thing is static. If I see someone on their alt, who has a score of 200, but their main is over 1000. That person almost ALWAYS know how to play their class well. I will take a higher Raider . io score user, even on their alt, over someone with a higher ilvl. I get why you “hate it”, but your reasons aren’t truly valid.
At this point, it comes down to class imbalance more than anything. I play a warlock, why would you bring me over say a rogue, or a shaman? If we do the exact same dps. The answer is, you wouldn’t. You bring me because I can average 25-30k for the entire dungeon. And while Balance druids are AMAZING Single Target, Reaping affix all but assured ST specs will be ignored. To where as Infest, ST was highly desired.

Mythic + is the worst end game design. WoW used to be about the WORLD of warcraft…all WoW is now is endless repetitive infinite scaling dungeons which players are funneled into because there is nothing else to do for character development. Pure garbage, IO isnt the problem, the game design is because its a very cheap way to create the illusion of content.

I am willing to use my +10 key on low ilvl people and see how it goes.
Can confirm. I checked RIO and he has a 2400+ score. He has done every dungeon at +18 or higher. He’s trolling.

This is why I don’t pug. LFs sure, but no old fashioned pugs. I’d have a heart attack the way these people judge, and if the content is so difficult one must be judged for it, you can count me out. Every time they make something super hard some vetting system comes into place which breeds elitism in an endless circle. It’s really one of the least fun aspects of this game but I play purely for fun, not challenge, so luckily I can stay away from it. I wouldn’t blame you for leaving OP if that’s what you’re into. I left WoD after trying to pug raid for similar reasons, and back then they’d just kick you after the last boss if your dps didn’t meet a certain threshold, which was even worse because then you just wasted all this time waiting around to get a single chance to loot, and the weapon I needed to increase my dps dropped from the final boss. I’ll take a simple “no thanks” over waiting an hour to loot 5 gold any day.

This is definitely a new topic that needs addressing and has never been posted in any way on this forum before. Well done, brave sir!

I seen a 10+ asking 1600 io the other day, I found it very weird.

It’s not a made up score. It’s not a perfect system, but I can’t spin a wheel or just pick what I want my score to be. I definitely don’t have a very good score by the way.
This may have something to do with it.
First of all, a smart group leader would look at your run history. If you’ve run FH more than once at 10 or higher that would probably make them happy. Second, the last I heard was that doing all dungeons on a 10 and timing them gives a score of 1k, which is kind of what appears to be the base score when it comes to pugging 10s (not sure if this community measure has changed recently). What I’m saying is that you don’t have to run 11s or 12s to get into a 10, especially since the variety of dungeons has a lot of weight when your score goes up.
Troll thread from 2400 io player.
Move along.

I also agree it ruined m+ . I enjoyed m+ a lot more in legion. I think one of the reasons was cause I was just pushing to complete challenging content . Not cause I was trying to compete on a leaderboard with everyone else in the world . I feel like the score makes it less fun for me.
